Audrie's Story: The justice was no served in the way that it should have. The boys lied to officers, intentionally took off her clothes, and were touching her. How does that not all convict them? Maybe if the best friend had pushed for Audrie from staying at the party and helped her home, or if the friend would have stayed with her. The biggest way that this could have been prevented would be to not drink...
Everyone knew what was going on and they were making dumb decisions they knowingly it too. Even if they didn't necessarily know that it was illegal they still knew that it was wrong. This is why they had lied, eventually making themselves look like idiots and condemning themselves.
Ohio: At least the boys got into a little bit of trouble but it still wasn't great. They seemed to be sorry but then later he was ignorant and completely immature. They should have been tried as adults, since they committed an adult crime. They have wrecked her life very much and they did it many times. He was not caring at all and he should have thought about how it affected his football BEFORE raping her.
Prevention could have been not drinking and not being stupid.
Browerville: This was NOT horseplay. He RAPED people over and over again. That is not ok. They should have been tried as adults and when they did it again they should have had to be registered as a sexual predator as well as kicked out of the sports. This could have been prevented by having a better justice sytem.

A. I don't believe the boys got the appropriate punishment at all. They deserve a severe punishment for the vile and crude things they did to Audrie. They also lied to the police officers, which should make the punishment even worse. I think a way that this situation could have been prevented, was by not drinking , staying home, or maybe the friend could have convinced Audrie to leave the party with her.
B. I think they should have had a harsher punishment and been tried as adults so that they could have received a longer sentence. They weren't even remorseful towards the revolting acts that they performed, so they deserve to serve a very long time. There really wasn't a clear way to prevent this incident from occurring
C. There should have certainly been a bigger consequence because he was previously charged for multiple crimes relating to rape. He just continued to do these malicious acts without getting in much trouble; he definitely needs to spend a long amount of time in jail, so that he can actually learn his lesson. I think a way they could have prevented this crime, is by not letting this boy be allowed to compete in tournaments when he was previously charged, more of the teammates cold have done something to stop it, and the coaches could have separated the boys in different rooms.

A. I think that the boys should have gotten further punishment for what they did. This could have been prevented if the guys would have respected the girl and not have done things to her while she was drunk and could not give consent. Audrie committed suicide because of what the boys did, and they need to be punished for that reason in particular.
B. With the Ohio case I think that the guys who sexually assaulted the girl should have gotten more of a punishment. Two years for the one football player is not enough because he basically ruined a girls life, and the other guy only had about one year of punishment.
C. There should have been more of a punishment for the guys that held the kid down. That was not horseplay, or just being a guy if they did sexual things to him, while holding him down they deserve more of a punishment. They could have at least served a little bit of jail time to think about what the person being held down would have wanted.

Audries Story: Overall disgusted by what the boys did and they definitely didn't get what they deserved. What they did was horrible and should've gotten worse punishments. I think this could have definitely been prevented one way or another. Shouldn't have been drinking and she shouldn't have been left alone in a room with all those guys there when she was unconscious.

Browerville: Again, the acts were sexual and he should've gotten a worse punishment than being let off. He did this to multiple teammates multiple times and definitely exceeds "horseplay". This could have been prevented if some of the other teammates came forth and admitted what others were doing and admitted that it wasn't just horseplay.

Ohio: This case is just disturbing to read in general so I can't imagine what the girl herself went through. She was raped multiple times, drunk, passed out, and with no knowledge of anything that had happened. She had to wake up in a way that no one should and she had no clue the events that take place previously. I'm horrified at this. It's good that the boys were punished but more should have happened in regards to their consequences. It could have been prevented multiple times and brought to attention to help her, not hurt her. Instead these pictures were degrading and horrible, and teachers, and students did nothing to help or report the incident.

They lied to the investigators which hindered the investigation and knew that what they were doing was done. In the Civil Case, they had to be in the documentary but that can not bring Audrey back to life.Yes, I do think that this could have been prevented by not having alcohol at the party or that website.
For the Ohio case, I do not think that it was okay that the two boys said a not very convincing apology and expected everything to be all right. What they did was not alright and they should not expect sympathy from the girl for their football career.
The case in Minnesota shows that sexual assault can also happen to males. In this incident, I do not think that they boys got the punishment they deserved because they were aware of their actions, but tried to downplay what they had to done to police.

Audie: The boys did not get an appropriate punishment or even really a punishment at all considering all the horrible things that they did to Audrie. This could have been prevented if more people were actually educated on consent. Even though drinking was involved, and it was a bad decision on her part, Audrie should have been able to go to a party and not have to worry about being sexually assaulted or raped. But instead, stupid boys don't know the difference between a joke and rape! Their punishment shouldn't just be based on the fact that they lied, it should also be based on the fact that they sexually assaulted a young girl and didn't even think twice about what they were doing to her.

Browerville: The punishments were not nearly severe enough for what they did. They sexually assaulted a teammate and blamed it on "horseplay". Horseplay does NOT = sexually assaulting somebody.

Ohio: Again, they needed to be punished a lot more for these crimes/rapes. Repeatedly, the girl was sexually assaulted and passed around. Not to mention all of the 'by standers" who watched this girl being assaulted and didn't do anything to stop it!!? She was too drunk to stop what was happening to not even remember all the horrible things people did to her. These people doesn't even realize how they are ruining her life or the effect their actions have on other people.

I think it is horrible that something like this could and does happen to people. The boys should have received a larger punishment for what they did to Audrie. If alcohol was not involved I'm sure this would not have happened, but there really isn't any other way to predict that something like this would have occurred at the moment.
Within the articles I find it very disturbing that people have this happen to them. I believe in the Brownsville case the boys did not get the correct punishment. I also dislike how they described the actions with the statement that they didn't mean it to be sexual, that it was just a joke, therefore receiving little to no punishment for their actions. It also shows how assault cannot just happen to women/girls. The Ohio case was also horrifying, at least the boys received some sort of punishment for their doings. It was sad to see how the high school boys were more concerned about their sports career rather than the girl's well being.

Audrie: The boys should have been punished more severely than they were for the things that they did. This could have been prevented by not having stupid teenage boys involved.

Browerville: The boys were using physical force to conduct the sexual horseplay which should have been enough for an actual punishment which they did not receive. Could have been prevented by the kids not being so physical about it and can be prevented in the future by having higher punishments and rules about coaches having more control over the kids.

Ohio: I think the boys got off way too easy with a stupid apology and the girl should not have to feel sorry for their football careers being effected because of the incident.

A. The boys should have received a much greater punishment because not only did they harass Audrie but overall their actions after are what lead her to suicide.

B. The boys definitely should have received a much greater punishment, they constantly sexually assaulted their teammates, especially because that not what you do to your teammates, they are your family and should not be treated as anything other than that.

C. For the third story yes it was very wrong and not okay, the girl did consensually meet up with the boys before she got black out drunk, and then continued to get black out drunk with the guys. The boys should have received punishment for child pornography and later penetrating her while passed out.

The boys in Audrie's story should have received a more severe punishment because it was a huge impact on someone's life and it ruined Audrie's reputation at school leading to her committing suicide.
The Browerville HS incident was kind of just blown over I feel like and in the case the athletes just claimed it has horseplay with other teammates. This was clearly not just typical rough housing.
In the Ohio case the boys got a much greater punishment than the other cases, but still was not charged with enough crimes I believe.

The boys actions could have been prevented if their friends would have stepped in and stopped the events from happening. There was no justice for what they did.
Browerville- It was not sexual assault, it was just play. The punishment was to big of a punishment. There should not be a punishment at all.
Ohio- I think there should have been more of a punishment to there sentence for what they did because they took pictures and assaulted her and only got 1 year and 2 years. She also didn't remember anything so she was passed out when they raped her. That is really bad so they should have gotten a worse punishment.

I do not think that the boys who sexually harassed Audrie got what they deserved they not only harmed her but they also harmed all of her friends and family by driving her to suicide. I think they should have had a way more severe punishment.
B. They should have received a greater punishment for constantly harassing their teammate and friend. you should not be sexually harming anyone especially if it is someone on your team or side. This is why they should have gotten punished more than they did.
C. The girl did go with the boys voluntarily but later when the girl was blackout drunk and kept drinking she could not do anything about it. The boys should not have taken pictures of the girl without her consent and even with her consent it is still child porn. none of these things should have happened and the boys should have gotten in trouble.
