There girl guides and Boy Scouts collected magazines and books to send to their school's adopted army in nort Africa. There was no TV but, on the radio there was Chikdrens hour you could listen to between 5:00pm and 6:00pm.Ration book green for babies, blue for children and yellow for adults.Some children with head lice had to shave their hair off.Many children had to sleep on same bed and if there were no room they had to sleep under the bed. The host could send the evacuee back if, they had head lice, if they were scruffy or they wet the bed.Children,women ,old people and ill people were evacuated. A boy told his mother that they give him and his sister a flannel and a toothbrush and intill that day he had never brushed his teeth
