Topic (Growth Mindset)

Having a growth mindset is having the idea and ability to adapt to challenges, or difficulties that present themselves without giving in or giving up. To embrace mistakes and learn from them instead of viewing them as negatives that should never happen. Having a growth mindset is the opposite of a fixed one, where a person has their mind set on a set of rules that state that because of this, this other thing is never going to be possible. How a growth mindset fits into my life is how whenever I make a mistake, I learn from that mistake so that I don't try to ever repeat it again so that in the future I can make more wiser decisions.

How stories connect and persuade us (8/28/23)

This article connects the ideas of how stories and works of fiction influence our perception of the world and how we view things. When going more into the neurological side of things and when medical professionals decided to analyze this process, they found that in storytelling “the greater the listener’s comprehension, the more closely the brain wave patterns mirrored those of the storyteller”. This process of analyzation presents how on a more deeper and neurological level of how our brains react when we’re presented with these stories. This process also connects to the aftermath of these stories and how they change the ways our brains work and our personal traits. These stories can deeply influence who people are, changing their thoughts and personalities along with the choices they make. Their decisions could correspond to the decisions of their most favorite character of all time, however, this character is a work of fiction made up by an author or storyteller.
