I think the temperance movement was the best. It was a reform movement ran by women and they wanted alcohol usage to go down. The abuse rate was high. This amendment banned the manufacture but the amendment was later repelled in 1933.

The child labor reform movement was the most successful because it made children stop working dangerous jobs and keeping them safe and healthy. It is bad to make a child work a dangerous job because they can get sick or really injure themselves or possibly die. For example, one of the child's jobs might be to clean dirty things. One day they might inhale a bacteria or catch a disease. They can get really sick or depending on which disease, possibly die. This is why the child labor reform movement was the most successful.

Answer: The prison and mental health reform movement was the most successful. For example the prison and mental health reform movement helped lead the establishment of many new mental institutions across the country and overseas. In addition the prison and mental health reform movement documented poor jail conditions helping the mentally ill. This proves that the prison and mental health reform movement helped many patients in prison by providing fair treatment for the mentally ill. This means that while Dorothea Dix was in the prisons she found a way to help the people that were in there. As a result the prison and mental health movement was the most successful.

Question: Why did the poet include an image of the poplar tree? Support your answer with evidence from the poem.

Answer: The poet included an image of the poplar tree because it shows how slender and weak the tree is. It also gives us an idea of what the tree has gone through and feels lonely. In lines 1 and 2, it states, "the poplar tree is a lonely tree. It has no branches spreading wide." This means that the tree can't give passer byers any shade.
