Premier League TV rights. Is this a good investment for sky

£5.135billion spent in total for 3 years worth of premier games.

sky spend majority of this - £4.176billion for 5 out of 7 of the packages available, including brand new Friday night coverage (predicted to be a prime slot for high viewership) and Sunday afternoon matches (highest watched average football other than champions league).

This may give sky a competitive advantage over BT, however BT secured the popular Saturday night slot as well as some European coverage for almost a fifth of what sky paid.

This has lead many to be concerned that sky have overpaid for the package by over £1Billion than what was predicted by experts before the auction.

In support of this, sky's share price fell immediately following the deal by 4.2%

There is also worry that sky may encounter trouble with generating the funding this huge investment as they are already very highly geared. They say that they are going to use cost minimisation strategies and make cuts in other areas in order to fund the money for this investment 😊😊😊

The competitive advantage for driverless cars is the customisation - 64 beam laser in roof allows vehicle to generate a detailed 3D map of it's environment.

Another advantage is that the the driverless cars are very high tech and this makes it USP for UK manufacturing. The return on capital investment is that the industry is expected to be a £900 billion for the industry in 2025.

An advantage is that this will create jobs in the manufacturing sector.

The money that the premier league have got can be used in the right way such as help the England team by the money being invested in new training facilities and highly skilled coaches. Also helps grass roots football.

However , the money from the deal could go to premier league directors , agents and chief executives. Many people disagree how much footballers get paid , this deal could increase wages even more. For football fans , they have to endure the high ticket pices , even for the most loyal of fans may see a rise season ticket prices.
