1.      Videos

• Tests should be ridden specifically for this show.

• It is not necessary to submit the video of your first attempt. You may repeat the test as many times as you need and submit only the best video.

• Tests should be ridden from memory (i.e. external assistance from a commander is not allowed.)

2.      Dress

• Pony Club uniform from riders' respective jurisdictions.

• Long or short riding boots accepted.

• Whips accepted (refer to p. 28 of Rulebook).

• Spurs accepted (refer to p. 23 of Rulebook).

• White gloves must be worn.

• Clean legs for ponies/ horses (no boots/ bandages.)

3.      Double Bridles

• Not permitted (except Class 5).

• Optional for Class 5 (as specified on the test sheet).

4.      Filming (see additional guidance under Hints & Tips)

• Film from C, the judge’s position.

• If filming on a smartphone, hold the device in landscape orientation.

• Movements may be marked down or 0 if the judge cannot place the rider and horse/pony accurately in the arena with reference to arena markers during the whole movement, at the discretion of the judge.

• Movements may be marked down or 0 if the judge cannot see the entirety of both rider and horse/pony clearly during the whole movement, at the discretion of the judge.

• Upload your video to YouTube or other video sharing platform and ensure it plays back in full.

• Make sure you set your privacy settings to unlisted or public.

• Find your entry under your Class heading on this website. Hover over the three dots on the top right of your entry for the Edit button to appear. Click the Edit button and then select the Link option from the menu.

• Copy the link to and paste it into the insert link box.

· 20^th – 30^th Sep: Video upload period

· 1^st – 14^th Oct: Judging period

· 19^th Oct: Results

· 20 – 26^th Oct: Public queries

· 27^th Oct: Results final

Filming position

· Film from behind the judge's position at the C marker, outside the arena

· If it's sunny, ensure the sun is behind the camera

· Mount the device on a tripod to keep it steady

Technique

· If filming on a smartphone use landscape orientation

· Start filming a short time before the rider enters at A, e.g. as the rider passes the E or B marker

· Keep the horse and rider in the centre of the frame

· Sound must be recorded and should not be edited

Zooming

· Some zooming is necessary when the horse and rider are at the far end of the arena

· Avoid excessive zooming in and out

· The judge will need to be able to see the relevant part of the arena (i.e. nearest marker) as well as the whole horse and rider clearly

· Whenever possible, the horse and rider should fill about half of the vertical space in the frame
