Aasir Adeyemi is born in 1691 being a desendant from the Songhai Empire with his mother Imani Adeyami and his Father Abidemi Adeyemi. Aasir would learn to be a responsible boy as there were many disasters that could happen due to the location of the empire. Aasir would also join the military when he turned 15 and would be making a living for himself.

Capturement of Aasir Adeyemi - 1706

While Aasir was asleep he was awaken my men he had never seen. He was being dragged out of his house and noticed that the whole village was being taken by foreigners to the nearest port.

Middle Passage- 1706

Aasir gets transported on the slave ship named Fortune. Many dangers were faced during his travel in the middle passage. The biggest danger for Aasir and the other Africans would be the the diseases that killed over half of the slaves on the ship. The 80 day journey would be very painful for Aasir as refusing to do task given to him by the crew would lead to various methods of torture.

Aasir in Slavery - 1731

Aasir would be a slave on Boone Hall Plantation. The Plantation would be run by Edward M. Howard who would torture the slaves putting them through misery as he showed them no mercy. Aasir would live to 25 when he died on the plantation due to sickness in 1731 and he would have a son named George who would get traded to Orange Grove Plantation in South Carolina.

1855-1860

Oasis, Amara, and Barika have overheard talk of a civil war breaking out between the North and South. With these rumors they start to plan a way to get off of the plantation and escape for freedom.

Civil War - 1861 to 1865

In 1864 Amara, Barika, Oasis and the other enslaved African Americans made their escape from the plantation and went fled to the north to go into hiding until the war was over. After learning what happened after the war they all stuck together and eventually started new lives as freed African Americans.

Enslavement of George:1731-1761

George would endure even more torture because the master on Orange Grove was more violent towards him. While in slavery George meets a woman named Sonia who was in slavery with him. In 1748 he solidifies their relationship and they get married., In 1752 they have a son named Isaiah.

1761

In 1761, George's time comes to an end as due to the conditions of the plantation causes him to have heart issues and die. His wife Sonia has to continue to take care of their son Isaiah alone.

Fortune lands in South Carolina - 1707

American Revolution - 1776

In 1776 the American Revolution started. Isaiah decided to join America because he believed in what they were fighting for and thought he would be free. However, his decision to fight for them did not work out in his favor as he was sold back into slavery in Virginia

1805-1815

In 1805, Isaiah had a son named Darnell and 3 daughters named Amara, Barika, and Oasis with a woman named Michelle on the plantation. Sadly 10 years later in 1815, Isaiah would pass away due to scarlet fever

Nat Turners Rebellion- 1831

In 1831, Darnell went to be apart of Nat Turners Rebellion , in which the rebellion striked fear into Virginia and eventually that fear made its way to the South.

Darnell's Death - 1831
