The towns people noticed nothing was happening much at Miss Emily's and that the Negro man grew grayer and more stooped. Miss Emily fell ill, and then eventually died. Nobody in town knew she was sick, they hadn't heard from her in months and gave up asking the Negro man anything about her. Miss Emily died in one downstairs room, in a heavy walnut bed with a curtain, her grey head propped on a yellow moldy pillow.

Conflict- Emily had disappeared for months, and the negro man would deny and try to stay away from the town people and their questions.

After Miss Emily's death the people of the town went in her home to see what she had been hiding in her upstairs room. They busted in the room and found the husbands dead body laying in the bed, what was left of him had rotted and all that was there was his nightshirt. His body was inextricable. But beside him lay another pillow, they noticed in that pillow it looked like there had been a head indention. One of them lifted up the pillow and found a long grey strand of hair.

Conflict- Her husbands body had been laying in the bed rotting for months and she could've been sleeping with his dead body this whole time.

This quotes says "It's scary what a smile can hide." I think this quotes goes along perfectly with this story because Miss Emily tried going to church and making it look like she was in a relationship with Homer. But really she was a very suspicious woman with many secrets.
