         <description><![CDATA[<div>The graph is of a pentagon (a five sided figure).  To be able to find the area of the figure divide the figure into two separate parts.  Then find the area of the two parts and then add the two areas together.  I divided this figure into a rectangle and triangle (I did this using the red line.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>You need to use the distance formula to find the length of the sides.  Since I know that this figure is a rectangle I will only need to find the length of two sides (the top or bottom and one of the sides).  I have shown the work to find the lengths of the sides and the area of the rectangle below. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Finding the Area of the Triangle.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To find the area of the triangle you need to find the measure of the length and height of the triangle.  Since I have a nice figure I know that the intersection of the base and height is at the point (2,-3).  I have shown the work to find the lengths of base and height and the area of the triangle below.</div>]]></description>
