There are 3 different rhetorical appeals of persuasion. Ethos - which uses credibility to persuade a variety of people. Pathos - Using different types of emotion to persuade and audience. Logos - Using logic or reasoning, and statistics to persuade and audience. You can also use different modalities: Hard Sell - It makes you feel bad about yourself and uses words like never and always so they are saying that they are 100% true and right. Medium Sell - It usually is funny and uses words like sometimes or try so they are suggesting to buy it or do it. Soft Sell - It makes you feel guilty and it is gentle, they are begging you.

Persuasion can fall into different categories. I have learned there are there are three rhetorical appeals such as ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos uses credibility, pathos uses and expresses emotion, and logos uses logical reasoning to of someone to do something. Also when you are persuading someone of buying your product, you can advertise them with the three types of modality; soft sell, medium sell, and hard sell.

There are three rhetorical appeals in the art of persuasion; Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. Ethos is a rhetorical appeal that uses credibility to persuade people. Pathos is a rhetorical appeal that uses emotions to persuade people. Logos is a rhetorical appeal that uses sense and logic to persuade people. The point of persuasion is to convince people to think or act like you. Other than the rhetorical appeals persuasive texts can be classified in modalities. The three modalities are soft sell, medium sell, and hard sell. Soft sell is gentle and sometimes makes you feel bad for people, medium sell is suggestive but not immensely forceful and can be funny, and hard sell is very forceful and makes you feel bad about yourself.

There are different ways to present a persuasion piece wether it be an article online or a commercial on TV. The three modalities of delivering advertisements are Hard, Medium, Soft sell. There are also things called rhetorical appeals that were created by one of the geniuses of the world. They are, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. Ethos uses credibility to persuade. Pathos tries to use your emotions to persuade you. Logos uses facts, reasonings and even statistics to persuade. I know that we humans still implement some of our ancient persuasion techniques, for example, pointing out what is bad in other products and what things are good in the one you are selling.
