Captain (Capitano)

Homeland of Naples. His name does not mean old salt but Captain Tromaras. At Andreina also named Kapitan Spavento and later becomes Spanish with El Captain Matamoros name (Aravoktonos). Their relative was Skaramoutsa who naturalized as Scaramouche in France. Suit black, wide-brimmed hat, huge broadsword clothes change with over time after satirizing the military or knightly outfit each time. Skaramoutsa was also jet black and was holding a guitar. The character: swaggering and roisterer freshwater, excessive and windbag but funky and dumb. In Venice was Greek and called stradiotto.

 

Captain (Capitano) Patria di Napoli. Il suo nome non significa vecchio sale, ma il capitano Tromaras. Andreina anche egetai Kapitan Spavento e diventa poi lo spagnolo con il nome di El Capitan Matamoros (Aravoktonos). la loro relativa alla Skaramoutsa che naturalizzato come Scaramouche in Francia. Abito nero cappello, a tesa larga, enormi vestiti broadsword cambiano con il passare del tempo, dopo satira militare o cavalleresche dotare ogni volta. E Skaramoutsa è jet nero e tenendo una chitarra. Il personaggio: spavaldo e spaccone di acqua dolce. Eccessiva e parolaio ma funky e muto. Venezia era greca e chiamato 

Ntotoros. Hometown of Bologna,  mother of letters. Ntotore in Italian means not only a doctor but each sofos. Relatives Pseudo Tartalia, the captain and the Skaramoutsa. The suit is pitch black and has black hat and mask the covers nose. The cheeks are painted red and have a short beard. His character: widely read, and fastidious. The day he was born "Uttered immediately a lovely Latin dictum".

 

Ntotoros. Città di Bologna, le lettere della madre. Ntotore in italiano significa non solo un medico ma ogni sofologiotatos. Parenti Pseudo Tartalia, il capitano e il Skaramoutsa. L'abito è nero come la pece e avere cappello nero e maschera le copertine naso. Le guance sono dipinte di rosso e ha una corta barba. Il suo carattere: molto letto, e fastidioso. Il giorno in cui è nato "Pronunciate subito un bel motto latino". 

 

His name comes from “ruganza” (arrogance). In this more popular version, he is one of the Capitan types, who is always rowing and comes off the worse. When he first appeared he was a kind of policeman figure or the leader of the Bandello squad who was never tired of arresting innocent people to show how strong they are. As time went by, he swapped his military costume for plain clothes and dropped his negative side. He grew lazy and good natured and went to live in a Rome where justice and cordiality prevail. He then started dressing eccentrically in a red waistcoat and large red hat.    
It is a lot of fun, representing the boasting roman type always talking, always boasting...of course not all roman people are like him!!! ;)

Flaminia is one of the many Commedia masks of a woman in love. The young Innamorati always fight tooth and nail with the older generation who do their level best to give them a hard time. These young women are by and large more determined than the young men, both in demanding love and rejecting suitors whom they consider unworthy. They are hot headed and willing to go to any length to win the object of their desire; if need be, they are quite prepared to cross dress. The actresses who play this role have to be great talkers and capable of switching quickly from one role to another. They must be elegant, good looking and cultivated. Among the actresses who have interpreted the part: Isabella Andreini (1562-1604), Virginia Andreini Ramponi (1583-1630) and their contemporary and rival Vittoria Pissimi.

She was often the only functional intellect on the stage. Columbina aided her mistress, the innamorata, to gain the affections of her one true love. She is sometimes the lover of Harlequin, but not always. She may be a flirtatious and impudent character, indeed a soubrette.

Brighella is a masterful liar, and can make up a spur-of-the moment lie for any situation. He is an inveterate schemer, and he  is good at what he does. 

The characteristic chequered costume of the Harlequin paired with a hat with either a rabbit or fox's tail, and a red and black mask completes the appearance of the hero. Arlecchino is often depicted as having a wooden sword.

The primary aspect of Arlecchino was his physical agility. He was very nimble and performed the sort of acrobatics the audience expected to see. His role is that of a light-hearted, nimble servant, often acting to thwart the plans of his master, and pursuing his own love interest, Columbina,  competing with the melancholic Pierrot. 

Harlequin inherits his physical agility and his trickster qualities, as well as his name, from a mischievous "devil" character in medieval passion plays.

Ο Αρλεκίνος είναι ίσως ο πιο αναγνωρίσιμος χαρακτήρας κωμικού υπηρέτη της Commedia dell' Arte. Το χαρακτηριστικό καρό κοστούμι του συνδυασμένο με ένα καπέλο με λοφίο από ουρά κουνελιού ή αλεπούς και μια κοκκινόμαυρη μάσκα συμπληρώνουν την εμφάνιση του ήρωα. Συχνά απεικονίζεται να κρατά ένα ξύλινο ξίφος. 
Το πρωτεύον χαρακτηριστικό του Αρλεκίνου είναι η φυσική του ευλυγισία. Ήταν πολύ ευκίνητος και έκανε τα ακροβατικά εκείνα που το κοινό ανυπομονούσε να δει. Ο ρόλος του ήταν ενός εύθυμου, ευκίνητου υπηρέτη που συχνά εμπόδιζε τα σχέδια του αφεντικού του, προωθώντας το δικό ερωτικό ενδιαφέρον για την Κολομπίνα, ανταγωνιζόμενος το μελαγχολικό Πιερότο. 
Ο Αρλεκίνος κληρονομεί τη φυσική ευλυγισία του και τις δολοπλοκίες του από τον άτακτο χαρακτήρα του "διαβόλου" των μεσαιωνικών θεατρικών έργων.
