Although Tiger Woods didn't do great in the tournament, he stayed dedicated and grinded while his competition stayed lazy. This is what makes him different from other golfers, he breaks the old, nonathletic stereotype that golfers commonly face. He won player of the year a year after his debut in Milwaukee. By 2007, Tiger had won eight of the nine POTY awards handed out. As he elevated to the peak of his career, he was one of the most commonly known athletes, and the most recognized Golfer by over 50% more of the U.S population than the second most known. Tiger has also made the most money out of anyone on the PGA tour, with $120 million total.

Golf is one of the only sports without a serious 'GOAT' conversation as he dominates in all categories of the game. The Masters tournament is the most viewed tournament for golf, and Tiger dominated them with 5 wins and the first being in his second year of his pro career. Tiger brought a new and exciting aspect to golf with his athletic abilities. In a CNN interview, he claims, “When I came into golf, I did it differently because no one had ever trained, no one ever lifted weights, no one ever ran miles, no one ever did wind sprints,”. His mental toughness his dad instilled in him raised Tiger to the top, and he was there to stay. Tiger has many amazing accomplishments that can be argued to be his best, such as his 82 PGA tour victories (Tied for first), his 15 major tournament wins, his grand slam, or even his 11 POTY awards. Tigers resillience is something all athletes should yearn for and he should be remembered for it.
