William Austin Burt: The typewriter is coming along nicely, but what is with the messed up keyboard? Did the placement of the keys in ABC order cause the typewriter to jam?

Christopher Sholes: No, ABC order did not cause the typewriter to jam. Telegraph operators will be using this keyboard before the general public does. The qwerty keyboard is easier for them to use to translate morse code.

I choose William Austin Burt as the person that Sholes was texting because Burt helped Sholes develop the typewriter. I used the conversation to explain why Sholes developed the QWERTY keyboard. Also to debunk the populare myth that Sholes developed the keyboard to prevent jams in the typewriter.

This would be the wallpaper because the typewriter was what Sholes dedicated the largest part of his life to. britannica.com states: "Sholes was so attracted by the idea that he devoted the rest of his life to the project" - Upon the suggestion the he should imporve the device he was currently using to print pages. The only jobs he has ever had was being a newspaper editor and being the collector of the port of Milwaukee. After running in to issues with rasing capital he sold his paton rights to the Remington Arms Company for $12,000. But he still made contrubitions to the improvement of the typewriter for the last several years of his life, despite his failing health.

Mint:Personal Finance & Money
This is an app that easily shows you how much money you have and how much money you can spend can spend. This would be a good app for Sholes because as one of the fathers of the typewriter, he would need to be able to easily see how much money he has and can spend to make sure that there is enough money to keep developing and improving they typewriter.

TapTyping - typing trainer
This app is to teach one to become fimiliar with the QWERTY keyboard. Even though Sholes did invent the QWERTY keyboard, it did not mean that he knew it the best. In fact, the only reason it is in QWERTY oreder is because it would be easier for telegraph operators to decipher morse code. So therefore Sholes was not an expert at his own invention and it would proably take some getting used to.

Notebook - Take Notes, Sync
This app is for taking down notes for as many things as you need. Sholes would find this app useful because he would be able to write down modifications and ideas he has about future typewriters along with what does and dosen't work.

Song 1 - Dream on by aerosmith
"Dream on"
"Dream until your dreams come true"

These lyrics would inspire Sholes to keep pushing to finish his first typewriter, despite all the failers he has had leading up to it. And it would inspire him to keep imporving the typewriter

Song 2 - Don’t Stop Believin by Journey
"Don't stop believing"
"Hold on to that feeling"

Sholes would like these lyrics because they would push him to keep developing the typewriter and making improvements to it.

Song 3 - VIENNA – BILLY JOEL
"You've got your passion, you've got your pride"
"But don't you know that only fools are satisfied?"

Sholes would enjoy these lyrics because they describe him. Passionate and proud about his invention, the typewriter. But never satsified about how it was. Always needing to improve it.

The second picture is another typewriter but with a more unique design. Sholes would probably have multiple picutres of his typewriter with different designs and imporvements so he could see what looked good and worked and what did not look good and what did not work. He also dedicated a lot of time to the typewriter so he would probably have multiple pictures of it because it is what he is most proud of.
