         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li>Trigonometry is used to calculate distances to the stars and more.</li><li>In the early 9th century, Al-Khwarizmi built tables that helped to calculate missing values ​​in astronomical tables that show the location of stars.</li><li>Arabic numerals led to simple fractions and decimal fractions.</li><li>Al-Khwarizmi (the father of algebra) introduced new concepts in maths in Baghdad around 830.</li><li>The numbers we use today came from Arabic symbols used more than 1,000 years ago.</li><li>Al-Karaji built on the rules of algebra started an algebra school that thrived for several hundred years.</li><li>With a better understanding for maths, people were able to use it as a practical tool in business and everyday life.</li><li>Arabic numerals made calculations much easier than the roman system, which used letters like X, V, L ,I ,C and M for numbers or other systems based on dots, pictographs or finger counting.</li></ol><div><br>It is important because today we still use maths and numbers.
