The judicial power of the US will be organized into one supreme court. The judicial power will extend to all cases in law and equity. The constitution specifies that the supreme court has original jurisdiction in cases involving the ambassadors and states. The Constitution guarantees the right to a jury trial for all crimes, except impeachment cases. Trials must occur in the state where the crime was committed, ensuring that defendants are judged by a jury of their peers. If a crime is committed outside any state, congress has the authority to determine the location of the trial, maintaining a fair judicial process.

The full faith and credit clause ensures that each state recognizes the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state. The constitution guarantees that citizens of one state are entitled to the same privileges and immunities as citizens of other states. This provision is crucial for ensuring that individuals are treated equally under the law, regardless of their state of residence. New states cannot be formed within the jurisdiction of existing states without the consent of both the states involved and Congress. The United States will protect each state from invasion or domestic violence as well.
