A$AP Rocky had a quick come up in music. he initially dropped purple swag in July 2011 which instantly became a hit due to his braggadocious lyrics and the trippy and atmospheric beat. He followed this up with Peso which had similar success. what made him stick out early in his career was his mention of fashion brands like Rick Owens and Raf Simon's which at the time weren't as big in rap as they are now. the aesthetic of his music was so fresh and new, he was sort of a hippie for hip hop. The Jeremy Scott Adidas, Gold grillz, and Designer clothes was such a blend of different cultures and influences that wasn't seen in rap yet. In October of 2011 he dropped his debut mixtape Live Love A$AP which seen great success and is regarded as one of the greatest rap mixtapes of all time.

After the early success in his career he signed to Polo Grounds Music. Apart of his deal was a 1.3 million dollars to fund his company A$AP Worldwide. upon signing A$AP Rocky dropped his first studio album Long Live A$AP. The album sold 139,000 copies first week and debuted at number one, it had features like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, 2chainz, and Santigold. in around 2014 he began to make his impact in fashion more commercial through modeling, he started to work with big designers like Dior and he co-founded VLONE. In 2015 he dropped his 2nd studio album at long last A$AP which did even better than his 1st studio album selling 146,000 first week and also debuted at number one. A$AP Rocky then took 3 years to drop his next album testing, though it was successful it is widely considered the weakest of his 3 studio albums as it is very experimental, hence the name testing. regardless of fan feedback it debuted number 4 and sold 75,000 units. Since testing, Rocky hasn't dropped another album but he has made some singles. Since Testing a lot has happened for him outside of music. he is always active in the fashion scene, he started dating Rihanna and they have started a family, and he has had some legal troubles in Sweden and very recently he had some very serious allegations for attempted murder but he beat the case.

Rocky's Lyricism

There are many quotables in A$AP Rockys career. while he isn't a very deep or meaningful lyricist he has a very clever rapping style. One of his more meaningful songs phoenix is where you will find his peak lyricism but some of his other songs that aren't as deep also have cool lyrics. On the song "Long Live A$AP", Rocky displays some of his better flows and lyrics with lines like. "Ain't had no pot to piss in, now my kitchen full of dishes" While this isn't a deep line its clever and shows his personality. The line just makes funny remark on the saying "I ain't had no pot to piss in" which represents being poor but now he is saying his kitchen is full of dishes basically saying he has so many pots to piss in which symbolizes his new found wealth. On his latest single "Ruby Rosary" he says "Now I ride windows down with my foot on the side Barely could drive, all the doors suicide
Like who dared me to die?" This lyric is saying he is careless, he is riding with hit foot out the window and he uses the suicide doors on his car to connect to his recklessness by saying who dared me to die.

A$AP Rocky songs have influenced me to be myself and to be confident. a lyric that I really like by him comes from his song "Be Somebody", on the song he says a lot in his first verse that is inspiration to me or relatable but my favorite lyric in particular is "Made my pop proud and my mother smile Locked towns, rocked crowds in the hundred thousands Make music, make moves, make movies Make time to thank the Lord that was great to me." This lyric reminds me of the feeling of making my parents proud and motivates me to pursue goals to make them proud. another lyric that resides with me come from his song demons where he says "They try to intellect with indirection just to test you A rebel 'til my death, it's in my flesh, it's in my vessels" This lyric is cool because it motivates me to do my own thing even it goes against the grain.

A$AP Rocky has influenced me in terms of fashion a lot. some of my outfits I wear are similar to his. I like his style because it is different than what the stereotypical black male would wear. a lot of what he wears is culture blending or culture defining such as when he used to wear babushkas or how he wears kilts sometimes and it lets me know I don't have to be just like everyone else all the time and I can try different things. I also think if I would make music my style would be something similar to his, he really influenced my taste in music particularly his cloud rap era. I love atmospheric and production heavy music.

A$AP Rocky is one of the biggest inspiration for fashion especially in the music industry. rappers like Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti used to have similar styles to him. At the start of his career he was known for flexing designer. some of the brands he popularized were HBA, Jeremy Scott winged Adidas, Rick Owens, and Raf Simons. He wears clothes that challenge masculine nature by wearing women head scarfs, getting his nails painted, and even wear skirts. while not all his looks are for everyone it is undeniable that he changed the game for fashion for rappers.

A$AP Rocky has multiple influences. In A$AP Rockys song Palace he says "Influenced by Houston hear it in my music, a trill n***a to the truest show you how to do it." You can hear the influence of other rappers in Rockys music, Because of beef he wont admit it but spaceghostpurpp who is a pioneer for cloud rap clearly has a influence on ASAP Rockys music. He was inspired by Mobb deep and Wu-Tang to make his own group aswell. he even named his son raekwon and made a remix to wu tang forever with Drake.
