After discussing social emotional learning in the classroom setting, teachers can promote positive classroom environments by integrating morning meetings, using positive teacher language, and interactive modeling. An example of these practices were seen in the videos shown in class as well as the group activity. One video displayed an activity that can be used in the morning and/or after lunch where students participated by choosing partners using respectful approaches. The teacher then used positive teacher language by saying things like "wow, you are ready to start," with overly excited students instead of increasing the chaos with language that expresses stress and frustration. Through this regulation of emotions by the teacher, the teacher is displaying appropriate interactive modeling to her students.

Teachers can promote positive classroom environments/social emotional learning in their classroom by: 1. Integrating it into every day classroom activities like finding partners, doing group work, waiting for something, etc. 2. Teachers can promote bringing home into the classroomThey do this by forming close relationships with both their students and their students’ families. This allows for the teachers to gain personal knowledge about their students as well as cultural information that they can bring into the classroom. 3. Teachers can structure, facilitate, and organize students responses to each other in order to create a sense of respect and kindness in their classroom. They can model how kindness looks and allow students to practice it. Devon Cabelli
