Some are born into families that have disadvantages. Having the opportunity to go to school gives them a chance to change their circumstances. It helps them to get an education that will allow them a better future and provide them opportunities they would not have otherwise. They can be productive citizens, and this helps them break the chain that might hold them back of they did not have the same opportunity as others.
