What caused the Montgomery bus boycott was when an African American woman named Rosa Parks refused to give a sit-up to a white man and she was arrested and fined for her actions.   

The Montgomery bus boycott is important to the civil rights movement because it shows that African Americans are treated unfairly and not like people that have the same rights as the rest of us have or the same treated me as we do.

Little rock nine is important to the civil rights movement because it shows the fight for the same school as the white Americans and that they drew the attention of the nation and they help them go to the all-white American school.
