The Navajo tribe was centered around what is now New Mexico.Traditionally the Navajo Indians relied heavily on hunting and gathering to find food. After a while the interaction with the neighboring Pueblo tribe made them learn how to farm and cultivate the land. The Tribe practiced ceremonies embedded in their culture for things like healing purposes and large scale events. The core components of the tribe was self-identity, self-respect, self-care, protection of self, and resiliency.

The clothing of the Iroquois served both as protection and decoration, and was made with animal fur and hides, and plant and tree fibers. Their headdresses were made with porcupine quills or wampum beads, and were worn by highly respected people for their bravery and honor. Women also had headwear, it resembled a tiara and was said to be strikingly beautiful. Men often wore sashes with motifs instead of shirts, and the women wore dresses and silver brooches.

The Iroquois also got a large chunk of their food from hunting and fishing. The men of the Iroquois tribe built houses, hunted, and engaged in military activities. The women of the Iroquois tribe produced crops, gathered wild food, and prepared clothing and most other residential goods. The Iroquois were semi sedentary which means they used agriculture and farmed, but also had frequent movement and settlements.

Modoc Tribe

The Modoc used to live on the two sides of what is now the California-Oregon border. The land which ranged around 100 miles from Mt. Shasta into Goose Lake, which is near now Lakeview, OR. They were known as the people of the water. The Modoc were hunters, fishermen, and gatherers who chased the seasons and dealt with the landscape for food and involved products to be used with their sharp sense of economic trade. Deerskins was used for shirts and leggings for the men. The deerskin was also used for the women's dresses with a full gown that hung from the shoulders.
