How the Rock Cycle works

The rock cycle is an explanation of how rocks are changes/formed. The rock cycle is extremely easy to understand, and is possibly the best way to explain how rock types work. The rock cycle take the main 3 rocks, (Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic) and shows how they can change into eachother. Let's say some sediments that have been weathered, have now been eroded and have been deposited in a nearby hole. Over many years, the sediment (Chunks of othe rock) has been compressed and cemented (Stuck together) and is now a sedimentary rock. Now, our sedimentary rock has been deposited in a cave, having it fall down into an even deeper hole, and a cave in causes the rock to be in a closed off little bubble of space underground. Our rock is now experiencing a large amount of heat and pressure, and over thousands of years, will change into a metamorphic rock. Now, our rock has been dug out, but has fallen into magma, and now melts into magma. Now the magma cools, and our metamorphic rock has been transformed into an igneous rock. Also, a very important thing to know here is that this sequence can go in any order, and doesn have to be sedimentary to metamorphic to igneous, as any type of rock can change into another.

There are many common rocks we use in everyday life, but here are some of the more common rocks we see.
1. Limestone
Limestone is a very common rock, which is used in the purification of moleten glass/iron, so we can be able to use those molten materials
2.Marble
Marble is a common choice for things like countertops for kitchens or other contructions, with its black strips and white color, which can also be polished to be extremely smooth.
3.Salt
One of the most used minerals, and for good reason. As you probably know, salt can give any food a good zest to the taste of it, and is one of the most common seasonings too!

Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks (Compare and Contrast)

Metamorphic and Sedimentary rocks have some similarities and some differences. (Sorry Igneous) Both Metamorphic and Sedimentary rocks have visible layers on their surface, a similarity. However, Metamorphic rocks have much more wavy layers, compared to the straight layers of Sedimentary rocks. Sedimentary rocks and Metamorphic rocks are also created with tons of pressure on them for many years to compress them. However, Sedimentary rocks can contain fossils of dinosaurs, but Metamorphic rocks are most of the time completely empty of anthing.

This is a very widely used mineral that is well known and for good reason. Copper is amazing at conducting electricity which makes it an invaluable asset in wires. Copper is also amazing at heating, which makes it widely used in airconditioning, heaters, and even cooling fans in motors for vehicles! (The average car contains 0.9 kilometers of copper wire!) Copper also has its place in construction, being used in roofing and plumbing. Copper also is a main component in bronze, which is made by mixing tin and copper, which makes much harder bronze

Loam is a type of soil that is a combination of all of the kinds of soil including clay, silt, and sand, and alos caontains dead organic matter. Loam is the most fertile of all of the soils and is primarily used in farming because of its fertility. Loam is the ideal garden soil, and is great for crops/plants. So if you want to be a farmer or have a nice garden, loam is the soil for you.
