         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Timeline / Process</strong> - have to make decisions based on available info<br><strong>Hotel contracts</strong> - one idea to not lose a deposit is to ask to move the date and use the deposit to use toward a future conference<br><strong>What would you do differently?</strong> - Fewer presenters, fewer options. Doing a lot more live sessions than we would have done. <br><strong>New vision</strong> - does everything have to be the way it was? Go back to the why. What's the purpose of the conference? How can you meet that purpose? <br><strong>Registration vs. attendance</strong> - common for people to register and not show up live, but they often go back and watch them later, or schools might use them on PD days for their faculty. Consider using different time frames - weekends &amp; evenings. <br><strong>Networking sessions </strong>- use an evening time for teachers to network with each other. <br><strong>Speed learning</strong> - 10-15 min speed learning sessions - Ts have access ahead of the actual conference<br>Consider <strong>scheduling</strong> "other" things outside of the actual conference time - board meetings, job alikes, etc. <br><strong>Zoom Learning</strong> - put moderators in different locations and make sure they have the resources (ppt, video) in case one computer goes down, then another host can continue it. Use a plugged in internet connection whenever possible. <br>Use a <strong>back channel</strong> to communicate offline - Slack, WhatsApp, Google Chat, Google Doc, etc. <br><strong>Record notes from breakout rooms in a common space</strong> so everyone has access - Padlet, Google Doc, etc. <br><strong>Exhibitors / Sponsors</strong> - Make sure your policy with exhibitors is flexible. For example, travel companies cannot afford to be sponsors right now. Consider how to engage them, how to get them connected with attendees - ask them to do webinars, etc. Talk to the sponsors to see how they might like to engage. <br><strong>Recordings</strong> - depending on your platform, you can make it available at a given time, or make it an open access library. Live sessions can be set to record automatically. <br><strong>Platforms</strong> - like Whova and Pathable also have good ideas for how to run things, how to engage exhibitors, etc. They can give you great advice. <br><strong>Future</strong> - we think F2F will come back as the preferred platform, and virtual options are also here to stay. A good way to include more people. <br><strong>Preparation for speakers</strong> - important to prepare them with your expectations / requirements. If you think you're communicating enough, communicate more. Be explicit. <br><strong>Student Voice</strong> - think about ways to incorporate student voice - student panels to answer teacher questions about their experience, take over your social media for the weekend (like the AMLE Social Influencer contest), etc. <br><br></div>]]></description>
