Those spoken words from The Alchemist means that in the world for everyone, it always marks each person destiny that shaped their fate of how they live their life, depending on the circumstances of how life treats and the word "Maktub" is an arabic phrase that determines how your life is meant to be because it resonates of how I view life in a way which signifies life has it's way to work things which having fate can be viewed as a lesson, as it implies that the events and circumstances in your life, even the challenging ones like for instance, getting injured but still getting your strength back to sports if you dedicate yourself. I want to add on an example from the book of how Santiago got robbed but his fate turned around when he's working with the crystal merchant to make money and learned his lessons. He fought off the hardships and never gave up. In conclusion, fate is just happen for the best of us in whatever situation you put in and look back at it as a lesson.

this is my favorite quote because how real it is that people are scared to chase their dreams because they feel if they tried they'd fail but if you don't try how will you know if you succeeded or not and failing is what leads to success it's apart of it because not everything comes easy

This quote is directed at Santiago from the King. The King is telling Santiago that when you have a strong desire to get something, the world around you aligns together in ways that seem to show you the path to achieve that goal. This resonates with me because it is a major motif in the book and it is teaching all readers that they can achieve their dreams if they want it badly enough. If you are putting the work in, and you are looking around you to see who and what is helping you and motivating you along your journey, you can become whoever you want to be.

These are the words spoken from the alchemist to Santiago. While at this point the Alchemist seems to be saying what the king had said, in his own words. Essentially the idea that when you really truly want something. Everything in the world conspires to help you achieve that. I chose to put this in the other themes area. Since this idea could apply to Personal Legend, Dreams, and even Fate and Destiny. Though the Alchemist didn't speak these words in any of these ways. To me, it seems to connect to almost all of the main ideas in this book as a whole.

I chose this quote because Santiago states this after he has encountered the first mishap in reaching his personal legend. I think this is the part where Santiago has started to become more aware of the world, and has started to realize that in order to continue, he still has more things to learn. This is the part where he starts to become more self-aware, but also begins to watch how the world works.

I like this quote because it is something that you see in the actions of others everyday, and once you become more aware you are able to change your actions in order to flow more smoothly in life.

This is an old proverb that Santiago remembers as the alchemist reminds him that, even though you will begin your journey with "beginner's luck," as you reach the end, the world will test you. It wants to make sure you not only learn everything the world wants, but also master it. This really resonated with me because one thing I have come to believe about life, is that things will get worse before they get better.

This quote was said by the seer and it relates to fate/destiny because it says that the future is pre-determined by God and that you should be confident that God knows what is best for your future. It also says each day brings an eternity which means that each day should be lived to the fullest and to not waste any days doing anything without meaning.

This quote appears in the Alchemist when Santiago is talking to the seer. This quote resonates with me as being religious this is something I strive daily to achieve to be fully one-hundred percent confident in Gods plan for me in the day/present moment. Never worrying about what comes tomorrow and simply putting faith in God that this is his plan for you is also a very familiar idea hence the reason it resonates so much with me.

This quote is from the old king, Melchizedek. He tells Santiago this when he’s trying to teach him that it’s important to balance going after your dreams and still paying attention to the little things around you. Basically, don’t get so caught up in the big picture that you forget to enjoy life and take care of the details along the way. It also kinda shows how you have to balance between pursuing your dreams and staying grounded, showing that destiny is not just about the dream, but also about how you live day-to-day.

This quote relates to fate/ destiny because it talks about how we will all eventually lose control of ourselves and it would be run by fate. But at the end of the quote it says how this is the world's greatest lie, and I agree to this because fate will never have control over our lives and rather it is ourself who has control over our own lives. We are the ones who choose how to live on a day to day basis and nobody else has that same decision.
