1. What are the arguments for and against taking energy drinks?

- Energy drinks are claimed to boost people’s energy but it is not appropriate for children and adolescence to consume excessively.

2. Should energy drinks be banned for Malaysians under the age of 18?
- In my opinion, energy drinks should not be banned for Malaysians under the age of 18. This is because even if they did not consume energy drinks, they still will consume coffee or tea which also contain caffeine. Thus, it is important for the people under the age of 18 to control their intake of energy drinks or any other sugary drinks to prevent from getting diseases such as diabetes or obesity.

EXERCISE 2
PAGE 6 (D)
1. In my opinion, the strongest argument in the body paragraph is the point that The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved that there are no harmful ingredients in energy drinks. That statement is the strongest because it is a fact which makes the government have no strong reason on why they wanted to ban energy drinks in The United States.

2. The weakest argument would be the banning of energy drinks will not work due to it being more appealing to young people to consume it. This is because this statement was made due to the history of banning smoking not working. Government should at least try to ban it if they want their young people to live well without any diseases.

3. In my opinion, I agree with the writer because banning energy drinks will not prevent young people from any diseases because they are still other drinks that contain more sugar than energy drinks. Other than that, I believe that if the parents took their responsibility to educate their children about responsible consumption, diseases due to consuming sugary drinks including energy drinks can be prevented.

i) What are the argument for and against taking energy drinks?
- Energy drink that supposed to help in enhancing mental alertness and physical performance but lots of people misunderstanding and thinking that it can lead to health issues among the adults especially children if consuming excessively.

ii) Should energy drinks be banned for Malaysians under the age of 18?
- According to Rhiannon Lambert, the Harley Street nutrionist, energy drink contain zero nutritional value which does not help in development of children growth. Taking too much caffeine can lead to high blood pressure, nausea, vomiting and convulsions meanwhile, excessive of sugar intake can cause an obesity and tooth decay. In my opinion, energy drinks should be banned for Malaysians under the age of 18 because of the health issues. Preventing the development of habit behaviours at a young age that are not helpful for overall good health in a long-term are much better compare to curing it.

EXERCISE 2
i) The strongest argument in the body paragraph based on my opinion is refer to the insufficient evidence to support the fact of too much caffeine is dangerous for children. This is because it support the fact that government have no actual reason to ban the energy drinks.

ii) Meanwhile, the weakest argument should be federal government should follow the example of other countries. This is because different countries have their own regulations that need to be concern and not all the company of energy drinks have the same rules in producing the product all over the world.

iii) In my opinion, I personally disagree with the writer because the idea was being voice randomly and focusing more on United State instead doing it globally. Banning energy drinks for Malaysians under the age of 18 and reducing the consumption among the adults can prevent from health issues to arise. This is because, preventing instead of curing it are far way better even though there might be chances on they consuming other drinks that contain high level of caffeine and sugar but, by banning it can teach people in all stage of age to reducing taking it excessively
