Hitler wanted to blame someone for losing World War 1 and make everyone believe that the German Army did not lose in the battlefield but was instead betrayed by communists, socialists and Jews. 
 Jews in Europe had been victims of discrimination and persecution since the Middle Ages, often for religious reasons so it was easy to target the Jews. The concentration camps conditions were horrible. When families arrive, the men were separated from the women and children. Then everyone took their clothes are belongings and handed them in. Then they learned whether they will live and be tortured or die. The methods the Nazi's used to kill the Jews were awfully. One method was to put a bunch of Jews in a gas chamber and throw poison gas in there to kill them all. There was starvation, and Jews were forced to do a lot of labor. Barley any beds or room for everyone and there was a lot of filth and disease. Life was rough for the Jews
