To our understanding the red flag “appeal to authority” is giving the impression that a product is good by using convincing slogans or even celebrities to promote it. Examples can also include “doctors” that recommend products. How do you necessarily know that they are even certified doctors? We take the word of people that we see as a higher authority more than ourselves. A quick example that you see repeatedly on television is “real people” coming in to see the new vehicle a company has released. They are beyond impressed with the new model, again how do yow if they aren’t just actors? All over the world people take the word of celebrities and people who they believe if they use the product it must be great.

This is basically trying to tell the public that they won’t have good skin unless they use Aveeno. This is just one of the many celebrity endorsed products of the world. Jennifer Aniston is also used in the advertisement of Smart Water as well.

Suppression by authorities is where it is believed that people such as scientists and doctors keep information from the public due to conspiracy theories that they want to keep people sick. Which in a sense could be true. Due to the fact the government makes more money if there is no cure for a disease. This seems completely logical so why not believe it?  

This video relates to the red flag “Suppression by Authorities” because Edward Griffin is talking about his book “World Without Cancer.” The conspiracy theory is that the government keeps these potential cancer cures a secret because they make more money off of you being sick rather than curing it. If there was nothing to cure then they wouldn’t make much money. 

Proof by verbosity can be taken in many different ways.  It is a study or a product that has an incredible amount of evidence, facts, and reviews that to the public, it has to be true. Many examples include detox recipes, detox teas, weight loss pills and many more. The evidence that people post could be things such as before and after pictures, etc. Amazon also gives away free products for giving a review. But how do we know they aren’t just giving away a free product to get a good review on something when in turn the product is awful. 

This is a picture of a detox or “teatox” that is supposed to make you slimmer in 28 days.  You are to drink one cup in the morning and one at night. They even have Kylie Jenner on board to help promote skinny tea. They also have Skinny Mint Super Fat burning Gummies. These gummies include garcinia cambogia and green bean coffee. Off the top of my head I know that is not everything that is in these gummies. You want to be 100% sure of what you are putting in your body. This also relates to the red flag appear to authority. 

Some people live by ancient wisdom theories. People go back decades to believe that ancients had more wisdom and knowledge than todays scientists  and doctors. Some examples include but are not limited to, rain dances, burning witches, etc.

The slide show goes through different sacrifices such as the Maya Sacrifice, Aztec civilization in Mexico, Egypt, and even the Ancient Romans. Human sacrifice does not happen in modern day to our knowledge, it is not accepted. But the ancient wisdom dates back to many different cultures participating in this event. 

All natural products promote heavily that they contain no harmful substances and that they are extremely good for your body. However, all natural products could also have harmful substances in it that you as a consumer may not be fully aware of.

They are all safe and responsible products from Jessica Alba (another celebrity endorsed product). Of course it is always healthier to consume products that were created without any harmful products but how can you be so sure that it was 100% made that way. Going “All Natural” can also include ingredients that aren’t healthy for you either.

This is just believing in seeing things that either truly aren’t there or its just a coincidence. Examples would include seeing faces in cooked food.

This post on BuzzFeed shows 22 people and how they found Jesus in their food. Again, you can carve the burnt off your toast and make it seem as if there is a face there but we all know it is just a coincidence otherwise. 

Things that have been noticed and talked about but have no proof. Being unable to explain things. Examples can include aliens, UFOs, area 51, life on mars, etc.

This article in Daily Star reveals images that COULD prove that life exists on Mars but there are is no real evidence that life flourishes there. Also on this website is 13 signs of alien life. These are all just thoughts and peoples words we are taking that alien life exists. 

When unfortunate things happen in our life our brains can overthink and lead us to do irrational things. When losing a loved one sometimes you want to do a Ouija board to speak to the one that has passed away but it is just illogical to think you can speak to someone who has passed away through a piece of painted wood. 

This website have several stories with people explaining their experiences with Ouija boards. It questions what experiences these are, is it a negative or positive spirit? Do you honestly get the response from a loved one or is it simply just a demonic presence taking over.
