I believe it should not be legalized for adults. Marijuana is a mind-altering substance that is one of the most used drugs in the U.S. It looks like dried leaves and other plants in a bundle together. There are several different weed strains and it can make them feel different ways in things such as relieving pain, helping with sleep, and more. Many people saw marijuana as helping them to relax and chill, but many others had it numbing them and they wouldn’t be able to feel things. After people stopped smoking marijuana it helped them with many things in their everyday life in appearance and mental health. It is harming in more ways it is helpful.

I believe that the use of cannabis should not be legalized for adults. Even if it is meant for good intentions like medical conditions most of the time cannabis gets taken advantage of by young adults and even teenagers who are just using it because they want to. The use of cannabis can lead to many both mental and physical health problems like harming lungs, cancer, dissociation, and the feeling of numbness. Additionally, the more you become addicted to cannabis the more likely you are to become addicted to stronger and even more dangerous drugs down the road. This is why it is important to for government of the United States to stop legalizes the use of cannabis and start taking more serious precautions to prevent its misuse.

I believe that the United States should NOT legalize adult recreational use of cannabis due to it’s affect on the human body, the expenses of the drug, and the effect it has on the people around the users. Cannabis does not provide users with any sort of positive effects, whether that’s short term or long term. As well as this, Cannabis has an effect on the economic status of the user, due to Cannabis’s expenses. Lastly, the user will ultimately affect their friends and family due to their mood changes, uncleanliness, and addiction. In order for the United States to remain a healthy and safe country, they must make the adult recreational use of cannabis illegal.

The United States should not legalize adult recreational use of cannabis as a nation but I believe the option should be given to each state. Giving each state a chance to vote on how they feel about the decision. Leaving it up to the states allows people to make their own decisions instead of nationally making a decision, since each side has their own reasons and evidence. Since many states have legalized it, people who want to use it for medical reasons can seek treatment in another state. But since many people can abuse the system, can get addicted and make bad decisions on their medication, a national legalization would put a lot of people at risk, but a national ban would put potential treatments out and patients who need it could suffer medically. So nationally legalizing would be bad but putting the option out to each state would make it easier for people to voice their opinion but it would also give others a chance for medical freedom.

Marijuana, also known as cannabis, is a plant used both medically and recreationally for its mind-altering effects. Its primary psychoactive compound is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which affects the brain and nervous system. Many people use marijuana to relieve pain, reduce anxiety, or stimulate appetite, especially in medical settings. However, frequent use can lead to dependency and affect memory, attention, and learning. While illegal in some places, marijuana is increasingly being legalized or decriminalized around the world.

I think the United States should not legalize adult recreational use of cannabis because of the effects it can have on not only them, but the people around them. Adults are supposed to be role models for their kids and if they have drugs in their system, that sets up a bad example for their kids. Cannabis can cause changes in mood and altered senses like a sense of time. Having a parent that cannot be stable enough to keep a safe mood in their house makes the kid worry and scared when at home kids should feel safe. When an adult is addicted and then do not use it, they can become agressive which is dangerous to have a kid around when an adult is agressive. Overall, cannabis use can be dangerous for the adults health and their family around them.

I think they should make it illegal because there is a lot of negatives affects to using it. It lowers your IQ, once you’re addicted you have to keep buying it and it gets expensive after a while causing you to waste a lot of your money on it and it changes the way you act possible losing your friendships. People use it in the wrong way and once they get addicted it impacts your body a lot by ruining your breathing and lungs. It affects you in many more ways physically and mentally but no one realizes that when they are using because they just like how it makes them feel. This is why the government should make it illegal.

Cannabis should be illegal for adults because it can impair cognitive function and decision-making. Regular use has been linked to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and increased risk of psychosis. Legal access may lead to higher rates of dependency, reducing productivity and increasing healthcare costs. Cannabis-impaired driving poses a serious threat to public safety, with adults more likely to underestimate its effects. Keeping it illegal helps discourage normalization and reduces the overall health issue in America.

Cannabis should no longer be legalized for adults to use as this can be easily abused leading to high blood pressure, a racing heart beat, and anxiety or panic attacks. Although many people believe this is a better alternative to smoking, its destruction to your health is truly the same as marijuana smoke can inflame and irritate your lungs disturbing your breathing patterns. Rather than reducing depression and anxiety, cannabis has been discovered to worsen symptoms in people who have these conditions. Along with this, it is also extremely expensive growing other struggles in America such as poverty. It is known as a gateway drug, so legalizing this for all adults is only paving the way for numbers of Americans to become addicted to other drugs that can be detrimental to their lives. I believe that this should not be legalized anywhere in America as a lot of people also are unaware of the risks that come with marijuana use.

Weed should be legal everywhere because of the benefits it provides. My grandmother has had 3 heart attacks and 6 hip surgeries, the only thing that helps her get out of bed is weed. Why not pain killers? Because pain killers are highly addictive and probably the most abused pill in the world for its high effect. Teenagers being mentally addicted to weed is honestly better then a heroine or crack addiction, granted no one should have to go through an addiction or feel the need to rely on a drug to feel “normal”. Marijuana is not deadly, the worst thing that can happen is having to much and vomiting not dying unlike other drugs.

I believe that the United States should not legalize adult recreational use of cannabis as it is more dangerous than beneficial. Marijuana is addictive and can cause serious side effects; coughing, breathing problems, anxiety, reduced brain development, and many more. Although there are medical uses with marijuana, there is still not much known if the marijuana plant can indeed treat or cure diseases. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also has not approved that marijuana is not used as a medicine. You are also able to buy it from a legally licensed source for medical treatment, but someone might use it for personal reasons which can change how weed is distributed for negative uses.

Personally speaking, I believe that Marijuana should be permitted in the U.S to adults. Despite the risks involved in using it, there are already plenty risky activities that adults indulge in, some equally as bad. Someone could argue that alcohol is just as bad if not worse; it intoxicates people, leads people to making impulsive and dangerous decisions, it can be abused, damage the liver, break apart families. At the end of the day adults need to be held accountable, including the risks and negative outcomes that come from putting things into their bodies. Although it can be damaging in some ways it can also be beneficial in other ways; there have been studies showing it can help with medical issues. Ultimately there are so many bad habits that people do, anything not in moderation can be bad; overeating and consuming too much junk food can lead to obesity and long term health issues as well as shortening a person’s life span, this doesn’t mean the government is going to ban unhealthy food. As long as adults who are fully developed occasionally use Marijuana responsibly, it shouldn’t cause too many problems for them.

I believe that drugs like these should not be legalized becuase of the harms. Recreational marijuana use is legal in many parts of the world, including several U.S. states, Canada, Uruguay, and parts of Europe. People commonly use it by smoking, vaping, or consuming edibles. Its effects include euphoria, relaxation, altered perception, and increased appetite. However, it can also cause short-term memory issues, impaired coordination, and anxiety in some users. The legal status of marijuana varies significantly by location. Even where it's legal, there are usually strict regulations around its sale, possession, and use. Socially, marijuana legalization has sparked debates around public health, law enforcement, and racial justice, particularly given the historical disproportionate impact of drug laws on minority communities.
