    • IMMERSION
    1. Professional doctors and medical students should seek up-to-date information on diseases, treatments, medicinal tools, etc.  Much of the up-to-date medical information found in: books, articles, documents, and newspapers are mostly in the English language.
    2. Medical English is highly technical and based on the context of the professional. In the workplace, doctors use technical and academic language, and at the same time use jargon and common language. So, the students need to listen and learn these english language contexts.
    3. In this way, doctors and students have different reasons for learning English for medical purposes. One of the main reasons is that they constantly need to read up-to-date medical typology books and magazines. Nurses also need it to: talk with their co-workers, make use of the important databases available on the internet, exchange at international conferences, write research papers for publication in journals, take postgraduate courses in English-speaking countries where technology is more advanced, and work effectively in hospitals where English is used as the first language.
    IN-SITU
    1. The English language is used in many doctor's professional activities, for example: in lectures on health topics, to read medical texts published in English, in understanding medical equipment manuals.
    2. When communicating with foreign patients and professionals from other nationalities, to write letters for medical purposes, medical prescriptions and in the writing of case reports.
    3. Doctors must give lectures using the English language, since their lectures are national and international, the materials they will use are mostly in the English language.  They will use slides, virtual conferences (Google meet or Zoom).  Updated materials, books, magazines that are obviously in the English language in case of international update.
    4. The doctors put in practice the language in the hospital using their adequate equipment for each surgery room.
