As someone who had never attended Camp Unity (and who has friends who are good at keeping secrets) I found the methods used surprising, to say the least. From the article, it seems that there is opposition and support in the community to the program. It would be interesting to review the experiences of people who attended, some positive, some negative. Furthermore, this story could be improved with gathering statistics about the topic. One more historical relevance to this story is that in Verde's first, issue, we wrote about Camp Unity and its origins. Also, some studies find that teaching gender studies in middle school reduces future sexual harassment.
