I have played jegi kick in the P.E class with my friends several times.
I don't play jegi very well, but I think the most exciting part in jegi kick is the feeling of kicking the jegi. It contains both heavy and soft feelings. When I kick the jegi, I feel the heaviness. Then I feel the lightness when the jegi leaves my foot. The jegi kick enables us to feel the movement of gravity and I believe it is the most attractive part in jegi kick. Moreover, the advantage of jegi kick is that it is easy and it can be played anywhere. Jegi kick is a game which only requires counting therefore it is very easy. With only one jegi, we can enjoy jegi kick anywhere with our friends. For these reasons, I believe the jegi kick is very practical and interesting traditional game.

2. The origin if the 'Jegi kick' - 20326 원서현

It is not known exactly when and how this game began, but according to rumors it originated from "Chukguk," which was created to learn martial arts in ancient China. By looking at 왕운정's 축국도 and the 한교‘s 격구조, Chukguk is not the prototype of Jegichagi, but close to today's soccer. In addition, even if you look at the record of "People gathered around the ball and kicked it, but the wind fell out and people broke up again, there was an empty pocket left," Chukguk and Jegichagi are clearly seen as different games. However, "Young people play soccer. The shape of the ball is the size of a large bullet, and a pheasant fur is inserted on the ball. The method is that two persons kick continuously it each other after facing, and it is to win that a person don't drop it to the ground.“ and if you look closely at this story, the way to play is similar to Jegichagi. This seems to have been explained using the Chinese character "Chukguk" in the absence of a specific name for Jegichagi. Looking at the etymology, jegi was called "적이" during the Joseon Dynasty, but the sound gradually changed and it was called "더기", "저기", and "제기". Some play researchers are looking for the origin of Jegichagi in a grass with roots. In other words, Jegichagi is a form that developed from "풀제기," that played with grass which has many roots and leaves.

In the past, Jegichagi was a game of men playing tricks or competing for who kicked Jegi several times.
However, I think it has become a traditional game loved by everyone regardless of gender or age today thanks to the advantage that it can be played anywhere and has nothing to do with the number of people.
The most interesting part was how to kick a jegi, and it was amazing how to perform tricks such as exchanging jegi with the others or putting each jegi on his back or head.
I'm not good at Jegi Kick, but if I have a chance, I want to play this game with my friends.
Also, I think this game can improve concentration because the mind must be in one place to play.

The part I investigated was the origin of Jegichagi, I couldn't know exactly how Jegichagi originated, but while investigating, I was able to encounter a new word, Chukguk. The most interesting thing seems that I couldn’t know whether Jegichagi originated from 풀제기 or is part of Chukguk. The reason is because I once again felt that no one could know exactly about the past. I have realized that all the history it is known now may not be right. What was interesting about Jegichagi itself was that there was the way and purpose to play Jegichagi. In fact, I thought I just had to kick the jegi, but it was interesting to know the deep stories. I also learned that everything has various reasons to be made. Along with this fact, I felt that we have to consider everything valuable.
