2. Us young filipinos have quite the dark future depending on how you see things. We can potentially help by trying their actual best in schools to push through and hopefully aid the DOST in making breakthroughs and solutions for our country’s numerous problems and issues. We can start by focusing on the areas we can help in, such as spreading awareness, donating to research and even helping local cleanup efforts.

-it’s better if they focus more on military or defense for this country specially right now in the issue in “WPS” that can help some of our strongest force to repel any foreign or domestic invasion or threats. But they can focus some area’s that can help out some people like trash, traffic & etc.

-it is important to invest in it so that we or local people can support our country goods instead buying some goods in other country specially rice. For short promoting sustainable development can improve quality of life & strengthening the Philippine economy.

An area they can focus on is general technological advancement, while we have been advancing in recent years, we are still a third world country so the general pieces of technology we commonly utilize are still relatively primitive.

His work has the potential to have significant long-term impacts on the Philippine environment and economy by: Protecting marine biodiversity and Maintaining tourism.

4) The Philippines has a huge variety of natural resources. Angel Alcala's work helped promote biodiversity in the aquatic ecosystems as well as preserve and protect them by building sanctuaries. Eduardo Quisumbing's study focused on the development of medical plants which promotes their preservation.

• I believe it is important because it would help us understand more about the nature, as well as understanding how nature works around us. It's helpful towards our own country, since we have a lot of marine lives in our country.

• Angel C. Alacala. The reason behind why I admire them, because they're studies on the rehabilitation of coral reefs is somewhat admirable, since I grew up learning a lot about the marine lives since I was a child. It was a interesting concept for me since I find coral reefs beautiful and interesting.

3. Fe del Mundo, for me she is the most inspiring because not only was she the founder of the first pediatric hospital in the philippines, which is essential in assuring the health and survival of children. She was also able to create a device that could detect jaundice, a liver disease. I find it inspiring that she was able to accomplish all of this that has heavily impacted us and our health, as a person who got sick often as a child, my brother included, I can only imagine what our health would be like if she had not pioneered pediatric medical services.

It is important for a country like the Philippines to invest in agriculture, medicine, and marine conservation. It is needed as the Philippines has a huge problem with poverty and overpopulation.  If we develop Agriculture and Marine conservation it would help with lowering the food prices and help with those who are in poverty. As for medicine it helps to prevent disease out breaks especially with overpopulation.

Ramon C. Barba with his mango industry can help with our lack of food in the philippines. As I said in question 2 it helps with lowering the prices to those who are in poverty.

Angel C. Alcala is the one I admire the most. I love the nature's and the oceanic beauty. Coral reefs is one of the main environments for most almost all fishes. The diversity of aquatic life will be threatened or eliminated in the absence of coral reefs. Angel c. Alcala also identified of at least 50 new reptile and amphibian species. His work inspired me because I can see the passion or care towards the aquatic ecosystems, I can see his positive contributions because of it.

6) For Edgardo Gomez contribution in conserving the coral reef. For the environment, it will keep the ecosystem alive and thriving for all the organisms who live there. For the economy, it will really help for people who worked in the aquaculture industry like fishing, because having a thriving coral reef will keep the species living there growing which means more produce to be able to market and also it will bring more tourists if they conserve the coral reef well.

Since Philippines is still a developing country, investing on research would help to greatly progress the development of the country. Since research opens doors for discoveries and innovation it is really important especially in the fields of agriculture, medicine, and marine conservation. Fields that need a lot of exploration to learn and expand knowledge in to create possible solutions to local problems or discoveries that can help the country develop further and into a new light.

6. I think Edgardos initiative on the conservation of coral reefs has helped us continue to preserve the natural marine life that the Philippines is gifted with. Long term impacts of his efforts are the existence of coral reefs to this day. The variability of natural species in these coral reefs are the result of taking care of them. Although our coral reefs still face on-going environmental challenges today, the idea of continuing to conserve these natural habitats are impacts of early initiative of coral reef protection.

3. For me, Angel C. Alcala's work admires me the most because it contributes to the Philippine Marine life such as rehabilitating coral reefs. I've always been against humanity destroying the ecosystem and nature in general, so learning about Alcala's work is a breath of fresh air, and maybe there is hope for humanity after all.

4.) Having biodiversity keeps ecosystems healthy and increases the health of the population. Alcala and Quisumbing's contributions help preserve that; Alcala's contributions were important to the advancement of fisheries, and Quisumbing pioneered the advancement of medicinal plants. Without biodiversity, we wouldn't be living as comfortably as we do, wouldn't be eating the food we do and medicine wouldn't advance as much. For a developing country such as ours, I believe preserving one of our best natural resources is key to developing further

Both the works of Angelica and Eduardo help understand the environment in order to preserve/take care of the location(which host lots of endemic species) in regards to plant life and the aquatic ecosystem, which are important to take note of aside from animal life.

• All areas of science and technology will always have room for improvement. The best way young Filipinos can progress in society is to hyper-focus on an area in which they specialize, be it medicine, engineering, or art. This will produce a cascading effect, e.g., origami inspiring NASA engineers for their space shuttles.

• Our biodiversity fuels our livelihoods. Quisumbing's development of medicinal Herbs has progressed Filipino medicine by a landslide, and Alcala's rehabilitation of coral reefs will heavily impact the quality of our seafood and preserve endangered culturally integral seawater species.

[5] In your opinion, how did the contributions of Ramon C. Barba to the mango industry affect the agricultural economy of the Philippines?

• Barba created a process that made mango fruits flower and bear fruit around three times a year, and because of this mangoes are one of the most profitable fruits in the Philippines, next to bananas.

(4) Biodiversity is considered the Philippines' greatest natural resource because there is a great variety of plant and animal species, and the country is so abundant in them. Works from the likes of Eduardo Quisumbing and Angel Alcala help us realize the significance of these natural resources and therefore allow us to understand the need to preserve them.

6.) The long-term effects of Gomez's contributions to the coral reef conservation would be the preservation of the diverse marine life, keeping many from being endangered or farmed to extinction.
