   I believe that the global spread of English, even in the Philippines, is a positive thing, because English is the universal language, as we all know. We can easily express ourselves, understand others, and communicate successfully because of the global growth and influence of English. People would be able to effortlessly communicate their message, as well as their thoughts, ideas, and feelings, to people from various countries, cultures, and religions. When visiting a foreign country and seeing people of other ethnicities with whom you do not speak the same language, you can converse with them in English. For me as  we live in a global world where it’s very important that we are able to communicate with people that have another mother tongue than us. There is  nothing bad about the idea of having a global language,since it can be  used as our second language or it is also used by many people nowadays. It can be used to communicate across borders, to exchange information,  especially if working together and to understand each other. But we cannot deny that  because of the English language there's a lot of Filipinos who have already forgotten  our own language.For me this is the disadvantage of the global spread of the English language.

The Philippines is very diverse so at least we can communicate with one another even though we have our own language which is Tagalog but most of Filipino nowadays are speaking English because it is more convenient and English is always used in our school.
