         <description><![CDATA[<p>District 5 is covers a small urban and suburban area.  It covers part of Hennepin county, all of Minneapolis, and parts of Anoka and Ramsey counties.  It was created in 1883 and called the  "Bloody Fifth" on account of the first election.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><span>Keith Maurice Ellison has been the U.S Representative for Minnesota's 5th<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota%27s_5th_congressional_district"> </a>congressional district since 2007. Keith Ellison, the third of five sons, was born and raised Roman Catholic in Detroit, Michigan, by his parents Leonard Ellison, a social worker and a psychiatrist, and Clida &nbsp;Ellison. Ellison and three of his brothers became lawyers, his other brother became a doctor. Ellison graduated in 1981 from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, where he was active in sports and a senator in the student government.</span></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><p>Ellison started his law career with the firm of Lindquist &amp; Vennum before becoming the executive director of the Legal Rights Center. <span style="font-size: 13px;">Besides practicing law, Ellison was active in the community and public service. He hosted a radio program on public affairs for a number of years. After winning election in 2002, Ellison became a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. As a state representative, he served on several committees, including the Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs and supported legislation on education and legal issues.</span></p></p>]]></description>

Principal manufacturing areas are electronics, milling, machinery, medical products, food processing, and graphic arts.&nbsp;The Twin Cities is also the financial center of the upper Midwest.  The University of Minnesota and other colleges in the area help make District 5 highly experienced in high-technology industries as well. </p>]]></description>
