Escribiendo es algo que haces, y  haciéndolo  “bien” puede ser muy dificultoso (aun que no hay una manera "bien"). 2.      Algunos niños quizás no tienen la fortaleza (experiencia) de escribir para un tiempo largo. Esto depende en que educación o exposición a la escritura que tiene el estudiante. 
 3.      Algunos estudiantes tambien pueden tener la problema to just not have anything to write about. They don’t necessarily don’t want to write but they honestly cant think of anything to write about (writer’s block). 
4.      Algunos ya se dan por vencido porque el tiempo indicado quizás se les aparece muy largo.

I would also structure it so that students could use any kind of writing device that they want: Marker, crayon, pencil.
