few years back when we went for umrah. I was born in Pahang and my family stays in Kuantan,Pahang. I have five siblings including me,and I’m the fourth out of five siblings. My primary school was Integrated Islamic School and my secondary was Sekolah Menengah Agama Al-Ihsan. I was in the middle between a top student and an average student but I really love my school years. It was one of the best years of my life.🫶🏻

WHAT IS USRAH

Usrah in general is family but in the deeper meaning usrah highlights the important concepts for Muslims: Islam, Īmān and Iḥsān as well as other selected issues related to Muslims daily life such as adab, eschatology and balanced personality.

ADAB IN LEARNING THE KNOWLEDGE

Adab (أدب) is greatly known as good manners and decency, which in this case happens to be significant throughout a Muslim's life. Following this, every little aspect in one's daily life is considered to not take this matter lightly.

Firstly, seeking knowledge and enlightenment in various topics in the world are simply one of the easiest method to gain rewards from Allah SWT. That is of course, implemented with morally decent values. No matter the person whom we are taught by are lecturers, teachers, parents, friends, etc., the virtues that Prophet SAW teaches us about respect is always considered crucial.

AL-QURAN AS THE BOOK GUIDANCE

Al-Quran, The Book of Guidance also known as The Holy Quran has always been the light in Islam in order for us, Muslims to live a principled life. It was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW verbally from Allah SWT through The Angel Jibril. As we already know, the language that's spoken in the Quran is Quranic Arabic, also called as Classical Arabic. Until now, the Noble Quran (Qur'an Kareem) has always been vital in Muslims' daily life. The importance of Quran includes:

- Get rewarded for every letter that was recited from the Quran

- Calms the soul

- Increases your faith in Allah SWT

- Quran as the source of guidance

They are accepted by Muslims globally irrespective of ethnic, regional or sectarian differences.

Upholding the pillars is considered obligatory for all sincere followers of the Prophet Muhammad, male and female, Sunni and Shia, but that doesn't mean that all those who identify as Muslims keep them consistently. As in all religions, circumstances vary and some people are more committed than others. Such things as age, stage of life, work, family responsibilities, health and wealth all make a difference.

A hadith of the Islamic prophet Muhammad (the last prophet of Islam) which expresses the religion of Islam in a concise manner. This hadith contain summary of religion of Islam which are:

1. Islam اسلام which is described with the "Five Pillars of Islam,"

2. Imãn ايمان which is described with the "Six Articles of Faith,"

3. Ihsan احسانً or "doing what is beautiful,"

4. al-Sa'lah Akhirat, or

The Hour, which is. not. described, but its signs are given.

HADITH OF GABRIEL (hadith Jibril)

Narrated Abu Huraira: One day while the Prophet ( ['God bless him and grant him salvation]) was sitting in the company of some people, (The angel) Gabriel came with no traveler [Musafir] impression and asked;

~ "What is Islam?"

Allah's Messenger (SAW) replied,

"To worship Allah Alone and none else, to offer prayers perfectly, to pay the compulsory charity (Zakat) and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan.

~ "What is Iman(faith)?"

Allah's Messenger SAW replied,

'Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection.

~ "What is Ihsan?"

Allah's Messenger SAW replied, "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you."

~ " When will the Hour (Al-Akhirat) be established?"

lah's Messenger (#;) replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will inform you about its portents.

1. When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master.

2. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings.

And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah.

• It purifies the heart from the effect of indolence and sin.

What is Iman in Islam?

Iman is heartily accepting all of Islam's essential and foundational beliefs.

"The Pillars of Iman" or "Arkan Al-iman" or " Six Article of Faith" refer to the fundamentals of the Islamic faith that every Muslim should understand and believe in. There are 6 pillars of Iman in Islam that are derived from the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad SAW.

CONTENTS OF THE 6 PILLARS OF IMAN

1. Belief in the Oneness of Allah

SWT

2. Belief in the existence of

Angels (Malaikat)

3. Beliefs in the Book of Allah

SWT (Al-Quran)

4. Belief in Allah's SWT

Messenger (The Prophet)

5. Belief in The Day of Judgement or Hereafter

6. Belief in the Qadha' and

Qadr(Doom and Divine Decree)

SWT

Belief in Allah (SWT) is the first and most important element that the Islamic faith is established on.

It is also described in the Quran and 99 names.

1.Tawhid-ul-Rububiyyah

believe in Allah's Omnipotence; He Alone is the Originator of creation, maintenance, life, death, etc.

2.Tawhid-ul-Uluhiyyah

the sincerity of devotional acts. For example, Salah (Prayer), Sawm (Fast), Zakah (obligatory charity), vows and sacrificial animals. Ther3 is no victor except Allah SWT.

3.Tawhid-ul-Asma' wal-Sifat

to talk of Allah's Names and Attributes. For Example, 99 names of Allah.

Why did Allah creates Angels?

• To show the divine power of

Allah SWT

• Guidance, protection, proclamation, ministering care, assurance of divine presence, comfort, encouragement,

enlightenment for human being.

As Muslims, we must believe that Allah has sent down holy books.

There are 5 holy books that Allah Almighty has revealed to His messengers as guidance and proof for mankind:

1. The Scrolls (Suhof) that Allah revealed to the Prophet Ibrahim

2. The Psalms (Zaboor) that Allah revealed to the Prophet Daud

3. The Torah (Torah) that Allah revealed to the Prophet Musa

4. The Gospel (Injeel) that Allah revealed to the Prophet Isa

5. The Holy Quran was sent with the last Prophet Muhammad

4. Belief in Allah's SWT Messengers (the Prophet)

Muslims should believe in all messengers sent by Allah (SWT) as same as they believe in the last messenger and prophet Muhammad.

The messengers are the humans that Allah (SWT) chose to guide the people towards believing in Him and abiding by His commands.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BELIEF IN THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT

• Knowing that humans will be resurrected from their graves and will be given their book of deeds to be judged by Allah

(SWT). According to this judgment, they were either sent to Paradise or Hell.

• Instill the fearness of doing sins than disobey Allah's commands.

• Increase the devotion of returning back to Allah SWT

THE IMPORTANCE OF BELIEVING IN QADHA' AND QADR

• Brought peace of mind and soul

• Given strength by God to face the trials of life (Sabr)

• Learn to be simple and content

• Work first, the rest will up to Allah

• Successfully both in hereafter

• Can continuously doing good deeds

MEANING OF AL-MUHSIN

Al-Muhsin is derived from the word 'Ahsana' (did good), 'Yuhsinu' (does good), 'Thsaan' (good deed, perfection or excellence); 'Al-Husn' is the opposite of ugliness.

3 CHARACTERISTICS TO BECOME MUHSIN

• Do good to others

• Do good as much as you can to others

• Do good because of Allah

PROPHET NUH

In surah Nuh Prophet Nuh show the exemplified Ihsan through his patience, compassion and unwavering commitment to guiding towards righteousness. He excel in the second characteristic as he never gives up to save and warn the disbelievers and he also fulfil the third as he obey and spread dakwah because of Allah's pleasure and not for any reward or compensation.

Prophet Ibrahim comply his willingness in obedience to God's command such as rejection of idol worship by his uncle. Prophet Ibrahim exemplifies Ihsan through his sincere devotion, compassion and commitment to righteousness.

His willingness to sacrifice for the sake of faith reflects his commitment and submitting to God's Willingness that Allah has given to him.

Propher Yusuf had appointed as ministry of Mesir and he excel for the first feature by resisting the temptaton of Zul ashha because herem ember the good deeds of the husband towards him. For the second feature he became a good hh alfah to the ditizen by helping them during the drought and the last feature shows that he has triumph of faith, integrity and compassion in

Allah SWT.

1. HOW? (WORDS AND ASSOCIATIONS):

• Lower down our voice in front of them

• Use proper language

• Not eating before them

• Give respect when meeting them by making a good conversation

• Pay attention when parents are talking

2. HOW? (WHEN PARENTS ARE ALIVE):

• Treat your parents good

• Take care of them when old and sick

When parents have died :

• Carry out our parents' will

• Pray for their state in the afterlife

3. BENEFITS OF DEVOTE OURSELVES TO OUR PARENTS:

• To be loved by our family

• Always be loved by Allah SWT

• Soul is always calm

• Society would look up to Islam

• Gaining parents' pleasure in having us as their child.

4. EFFECTS OF DOING OUR PARENTS WRONG

• Would be threatening the society's peace.

• Will face the consequences by hell's punishments later on

• Life is not blessed by Allah SWT

MANNERS TOWARDS THE NEIGHBOUR:

1. Do good to them.

2. Do not hurt them.

3. Love them as you love yourself.

4. Prioritize the neighbors closest to us.

5. Help them when they are in trouble.

Imām al-Ghazālī, in his work Bidāyat al-Hidāyah (The Beginning of the Path to Guidance), emphasizes several etiquettes for a student to practice and use as a guideline. He states: "If you are a student, then the etiquettes of a student before a scholar (teacher)..."

HERE ARE THE MANNER OF STUDENTS TOWARDS THE SCHOLAR (TEACHERS)

1. When a student meets their teacher, they should begin with a greeting and salutation.

2. They should minimize speaking in the teacher’s presence.

3. They should not speak about matters that the teacher has not inquired about.

4. They should not ask questions without first seeking permission.

5. They should not contradict the teacher by saying, “Someone has stated something that contradicts your view (teacher).”

6. They should not present views to the teacher that oppose their own, as if implying that the student knows the truth better than the teacher.

7. They should not whisper (or ask) to the person sitting next to them during the teacher’s gathering.

8. They should not turn their face away; instead, they should sit respectfully with their eyes focused on the teacher, as if in prayer (that is, in a state of complete concentration, just as one would during prayer, with their gaze directed only towards the place of prostration).

9. They should not ask many questions when the teacher is tired.

10. When the teacher stands, the student should also stand to show respect.

11. They should not follow the teacher with discussions and questions as the teacher leaves the gathering.

12. They should not ask the teacher questions in the middle of the road until the teacher reaches their home or seating place.

13. They should not harbor negative assumptions about the teacher when the student observes the teacher's actions that may seem to contradict their knowledge (not contradicting religion), as the teacher knows the secrets behind their actions. In this regard, remember the story of Prophet Mūsā and Khiḍir (Surah al-Kahf, Verse 71), where ultimately, Prophet Mūsā was mistaken in rejecting Khiḍir’s actions because he only considered the apparent law.

Not only that, being good to another muslim is essential for the ummah to function well as it helps us maintain good relationships with other muslims. If we are closer together as an ummah, hardly anything can break us, as we are all united by faith, even if we have different backgrounds.

The religion of Islam places great importance on brotherhood and compassion among Muslims. As Muslims fulfilling the rights of Allah, we must also emphasize the rights of our fellow believers. The beauty and comprehensiveness of Islam encompass all aspects of human life, including the relationships between a servant, Allah, and other people. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) summarized these rights in a hadith narrated by Imam Muslim:

"The rights of a Muslim over another Muslim are six: When you meet him, greet him with peace; when he invites you, accept his invitation; when he seeks your counsel, advise him; when he sneezes and praises Allah, say 'Yarhamukallah' (may Allah have mercy on you); when he is sick, visit him; and when he dies, follow his funeral."

Thus, these rights outlined by Islamic law should be practiced to strengthen ties of brotherhood among Muslims.

1. Greet with Peace

Greeting each other is an essential identity of Muslims and is highly encouraged. When a Muslim meets another, whether known or unknown, he should initiate with the greeting of peace, as saying it is a confirmed Sunnah, while responding is obligatory. This not only invokes goodwill but also fosters love and closeness among Muslims. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and your faith will not be complete until you love one another. Should I not inform you of something that, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread peace among yourselves."

From this hadith, it is clear that peace is a testament to Islam as a religion that values tranquility, safety, and brotherhood.

2. Accepting Invitations

Another right among Muslims is to accept invitations when invited. The goodwill and respect from the inviter should be honored unless there is a valid excuse. This fosters affection and appreciation from the inviter. However, it should be noted that invitations should not involve sinful purposes or settings.

3. Giving Advice

When a Muslim seeks advice or counsel on a matter, we should earnestly provide guidance for their benefit. Scholars argue that advice must encourage worship of Allah, promote what is good, and discourage wrongdoing. As humans, we sometimes forget our transgressions, so as loving Muslims, we should advise sincerely and kindly without causing shame or hurt. It is best to consistently offer wise counsel, even when not requested.

4. Praying When Someone Sneezes

If a Muslim sneezes and says 'Alhamdulillah,' we should respond with 'Yarhamukallah' (for men) or 'Yarhamukillah' (for women), thanking Allah for praising Him during the sneeze. This aligns with a hadith narrated by Imam al-Bukhari, where the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated:

"When one of you sneezes, he should say 'Alhamdulillah,' and his brother or companion should respond with 'Yarhamukallah.' If someone says 'Yarhamukallah,' the sneezer should reply, 'Yahdiikumullah Wa Yushlih Baalakum' (May Allah guide you and rectify your affairs)."

In another hadith from Imam Muslim, the Prophet said:

"When someone among you sneezes and praises Allah (saying 'Alhamdulillah'), then pray for him (by saying 'Yarhamukallah'). If he does not praise Allah, do not pray for him."

5. Visiting the Sick

When a Muslim is ill, we should visit them, especially if they are close relatives or friends. During the visit, we must remember the proper etiquette to avoid adding to the patient’s burden. Pray for their recovery and encourage them to be patient with Allah’s tests. Among the etiquettes of visiting the sick is not to stay too long unless our presence is comforting to them. By practicing this, the sick individual will feel remembered and valued, leading to peace of mind and, God willing, recovery.

6. Accompanying the Deceased

Accompanying a deceased person’s funeral involves prayers, seeking forgiveness, and offering comfort to the family, serving as a final tribute to the departed. In a hadith narrated by Imam al-Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated:

"Whoever accompanies a funeral until the prayer is offered for it will earn the reward of one qirat, and whoever follows it until burial will earn the reward of two qirats." When asked what a qirat meant, he replied, "Like two great mountains."

There are numerous virtues and benefits in fulfilling the rights of fellow Muslims. However, it’s important to remember that besides these six rights, there are many other rights of Muslims that are not mentioned. Allah (SWT) says in Surah Al-Maidah, verse 2:

"And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty."

Therefore, strive to be a good Muslim by fulfilling the rights of others, as every good deed serves as a provision for the Hereafter. God willing, fulfilling these rights will create a harmonious society, fostering mutual respect and remaining under Allah’s mercy.

❣️ Continued Learning: Encouragement for ongoing education in Islamic knowledge and personal development.
