The British government imposed taxes on American colonists without giving them any say. The colonists got angry and soon began to protests which led to the American Revolution.

The war was caused by competing British and French Interest against each other. The war provided Britain with enormous territorial gains in North America.

Location- Old state house in Boston

The writs of assistance were court orders that enabled British soldiers to carry out searches of colonial homes. The writ usually served as an eviction from real property.

Location- Boston

Allowed royal governors to find homes and buildings to quarter or house British soldiers. This further enraged the colonists by having foreign soldiers boarded in American cities to take away their homes.

Tensions between the British soldiers and American colonies were high because the soldiers kept enforcing unpopular British laws and taxes. An argument escalated with the groups and lead to violence. This event became a rallying point leading up to the American Revolution.

Location-Boston Harbor

The British government has passed the Tea Act which allowed the British East India Compan to sell tea directly to the colonies. The colonists became angry because they still had no representation in the British government. So the colonists boarded British ships and dumped 343 chests of tea into the harbor causing the government to get mad leading to harsh punishments aka the Intolerable Acts.

Location-Pennsylvania

The common sense was wrote to convince American colonists that they should break away from British rule. The pamphlet argued that it was only logical for them to seek for their own independence. The pamphlet had a huge impact and inspired many colonists, which leaded to the declaration of independence later in the year.

American colonists were tired with British rule. They came to the sense that they need to declare their own independence. The declaration stated they needed to break free and then after they declared their independence they were free of British rule and united to make what we know now the United States.
