I have chosen Religious or Spiritual Beliefs-
the history of Islam concerns the political, social, economic and cultural developments of Islamic civilization. Most historians believe that Islam originated in Mecca and Medina at the start of the 7th century CE. Muslims regard Islam as a return to the original faith of the prophets, such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus, and, with the submission (Islam) to the will of God.
The challenges that Muslims face today is that they
tend to be isolated by the way they dress, the language barrier and geographically be situated in Western Sydney or Western Melbourne for example. Muslims still experience racism and discrimination in the workplace as well as in general in hospitals, in shopping center's and on public transport. In NSW current laws do not protect Muslims from discrimination.

The work task that my colleagues and I had was to dismantle 6 cots in the nursery room and to build 6 new cots together and within a 2 hour time period before we had to set up for lunch and then sleep times for the children in our care.

We were given an extra staff member to help support in care/educating for the children and as a team we discussed and decided who out of our team would be with the children and who would be dismantling the cots and building the new ones. My room leader and I were going to look after the cots and our other assistant and the extra staff member would be with the children. My room leader and I discussed that we would dismantle and build the cots together rather than have 3 each as we would work more safe, effectively and efficiently in completing our task within the time frame.

1. Introduce yourself e.g., What is your 1 work background?

My name is Kylie, I have previously worked in design, marketing and web for professional services in-house and then as a freelancer while travelling the world.

2. Why have you decided to do this course?

It is a pre-requisite for Cyber Security.

3. How do you define 'Effecive Communication'? In relation to Chisholm I would suggest: Providing correct and clear instructions, correct course materials and resources for students and checking these are correct prior to the first day of term. Otherwise, in general, it is the successful exchange of information where the message is received and understood as intended easily whether written, verbal, non-verbal or for example in signage, ensuring accessibility is taken into account.
