      we work most directly with students but we are there for parents and families as well
9. What we do/programming we organize for families can also be broadened out to the larger congregation
10. Older parishioners can be wonderful allies- they can connect with youth and support what we are trying to do

Thanks as always for an informative and uplifting meeting!

1. Earth Day garden (sorry I didn't note whose garden)
    potatoes harvested and the reflection question discussed- what kind of potato would you be?
     this was very successful, lots of fun!
2. Emily Sugg shared some of her ideas and lessons for teaching parables
     start with art work ie Rembrandt painting
    The Return of the Prodigal Son
     sit quietly with art work
     reflect with each other
     "what do you notice?"
      a good way to think about each of the people in the story
       a way to "get inside a story"
       parables don't have neat endings
       as we go through life the parables can have different meaning (this is a Godly Play type of approach)

     Also you can have students write their own modern versions of parables
      could "interview" participants in the parables, especially the smaller characters who don't say anything in the scripture stories
3. Bryn
    will continue with Story Makers and Godly Play
    will focus on training for volunteers, trying to get a group together show them curriculum, review "class covenants", help volunteers with language for the classroom and to know larger issues will be handled by her
     "working to build a community of teachers"
4. Rowan
     resources for helping us build lasting programs
     sustainable youth ministries (link to book in the padlet)
     working on Safe Church training to be in person
     modifying the reflection and questions
     also important to consider other vulnerable populations
(adults with disabilities, substance issues etc)
       Bryn had a good suggestion to have other clergy available to support in person groups ("not our bosses")
        Martha mentioned Bethany House of Prayer could help with this and the new modules have a new focus for the introduction- Baptismal Covenant, Safe Church Training is not just a box to check off- more important than that
     Rowan also interested in more discussion about preparing families for Baptism- practical tips
