Blog 3: Deontology vs Utilitarianism was the hardest blog to write. It was hard for me to understand the idea of these concepts, I kept on getting the concepts confused with each other. After taking my time with this blog, I better understood what each of them meant and I was able to apply them to real life scenarios.

Ethical Concept

The most challenging ethical concept for me was subjectivism. This was unfamiliar to me and I was confused on how it means that everyone has different morals so everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. I thought of how people could take this to the extreme and say muder was ok because it was morally correct in their mind

I really enjoyed talking about the ethic of care because we got to discuss what the world would be like if we lived through the ethic of care. I found that the class discussions were very interesting because we were looking into a world that will probably never exist. My takeaway was that the ethic of care seems like it would be a very good concept to implement into our lives but it would cause a lot of chaos. This helped me to understand that overall the world is not a very caring place.

I got to meet a lot of people in this class who helped me to understand the concepts that were presented in class. Sitting next to Abigail and being in groups with Sara and Gurami helped me have a lot of meaningful conversations. The conversations went into deep discussions. The classroom community helped me to learn about everyone else's opinion and views that they developed from their pasts.

Writing the rogerian argument, I learned how to correctly compare two sides of a debate. It helped me to apply the ethical theories and concepts from class into a real life scenario. It connected to what I wrote about because both of the arguments had very good reasonings .

The knowledge I learned from this course will help me to succeed in my life and in my career. I will remember these core concepts to help me understand the way I think and the way others think.
