The lyrics of "Jailhouse Rock" represent what would happen in a fictional jail in a book, movie, or any other fictional production. I feel like the meaning of "I Fought the Law" would really sit well with Mr. Byrnes because it talks about a criminal who breaks the law and gets punished later for his actions, and this is what officer Byrnes wants the criminals of New York City to feel.
