Prophet Muhammad SAW once said we can overcome poverty and remove sins completely if we perform umrah. It is important to do umrah and hajj as we need to always remember Allah in all stages of our life. Performing umrah and hajj is also important to seek forgiveness from Allah as all the sins of a believer whose Hajj have been accepted is wiped clean entirely.

WHY WE NEED TO PERFORM HAJJ AND UMRAH? IS IT IMPORTANT?

Yes, it is important to us as a Muslim because hajj is a pillar of Islam that all Muslims must do at least once in their lives. It is a physically hard pilgrimage that Muslims believe allows them to cleanse themselves of past misdeeds and begin anew in their relationship with God. Muslims benefit from the Hajj season because it brings them together and allows them to learn from one another. Muslims from all over the world gather at the Hajj to express their affection for one another and get to know one another without any barriers or constraints. It is a practice intended to strengthen Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood by demonstrating that everyone is equal in Allah's eyes. By removing all signs of social standing, riches, and pride, the Hajj helps Muslims understand the true value of life on Earth and in the afterlife. In the Hajj, everyone is treated equally. The Hajjis, or pilgrims, dress in Ihram, which is a plain white garment.

FORBIDDEN ACTION DURING IHRAM

The person on the Hajj may not:

Engage in marital relations

Shave or cut their nails

Use cologne or scented oils

Kill or hunt anything

Fight or argue.

Women must not cover their faces, even if they would do so in their home country.

Men may not wear clothes with stitching.

Bathing is allowed but scented soaps are frowned upon.

1) Hajj and umrah is important as it will motivate the believers to save up and try their utmost to perform hajj. By performing umrah and hajj, it will overcome the poverty and remove sins as how the fire separate the germs from iron gold and silver. In addition, if we perform hajj with our full heart and the hajj is accepted by Allah, it will be rewards by paradise. And whoever perform hajj for the second time, he/she will gain forgiveness from Allah.
2) There are conditions in order to make our hajj is accepted. First, do not approach wife sexually. Second, do not speak obscene language and control our anger. If we do so, we will born as a sinless person. If our life change become more better after performing the hajj, that the sign that our hajj is accepted. 3) The forbidden during ihram: - remove any hair of the body or cut nails. - cannot use the perfume to body - cover the head - wear something stitched according to size of the body - have intimate relationship or caress with lust. - conclude the marriage contract - propose to a woman - harm or kill animals 4) Ibrah (2:197): This verse signifies that individuals who put on the Ihram for Hajj or Umrah must refrain from engaging in Rafath, or sexual activity. Anything that may lead to sexual contact, such as hugging, kissing, or conversing with women about comparable topics, is prohibited. Fiuthermore, during the Hajj, the prohibition of Fusuq, which includes cursing people, sacrificing animals for idols, and insulting one another with unpleasant nicknames. Committing what Allah forbids in the Sacred Area, according to the scholars. Arguing is forbidden during the Hajj. Allah encouraged virtuous, good acts after prohibiting evil in act and word, saying that He is aware of their good deeds and will reward them with the finest rewards on the Day of Resurrection. Finally, when Allah commanded men to provide for their needs during this life's adventures, He led them to the essential supplies for the Hereafter: Taqwa. He recommended spiritual covering, which consists of humility, obedience, and Taqwa. He also indicated that the latter provision is superior to the former in terms of effectiveness and benefits.

✨Why do we need to perform hajj & umrah? Is hajj and umrah important for us?
-->Hajj is the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, that is mandatory upon every financially and physically capable Muslim, to perform it at least once in their lifetime. It is incredibly important to perform Hajj as it is the fifth pillar of Islam, together with shahadah, salat, zakat and sawm. Hajj and umrah are considered to be the most spiritual, the most sacred and “biggest” event that a Muslim experiences, in the holiest place, ie; Ka’ba in Mecca. As humble servant of Allah SWT, we are obliged to grow a stronger connection towards Allah SWT, indeed, performing Hajj is one of the greatest acts of worshipping Allah and reminding oneself of the sole purpose in this world. Some of the benefits of performing Hajj are listed as below:
1. Overcomes poverty.
2. Erases sins committed.
3. Performing umrah after another umrah would be granted forgiveness to those who committed sins in between that period of time.
4. Jannah will be rewarded to those who perform Hajj and Umrah (which are accepted) by Allah SWT.
-->Therefore, Muslims should save up and put in their utmost effort to perform Hajj and Umrah at least once in their lifetime as there are great rewards for those who do it. Rasulullah SAW had mentioned to follow up the call of umrah or hajj, for those who are capable of doing so.
✨What can one do to ensure that his or her Hajj is accepted?
1. Does not approach his wife sexually.
2. Does not commit sins.
3. Does not speak the obscene language.
4. Controls his anger throughout his journey.
✨How to make certain that the Hajj is accepted?
1. Have adopted better manners and behaviour.
2. Have given up on committing sins that one used to do.
✨Forbidden Actions During Ihram
-->Ihram is the state of purity for the pilgrims of Hajj. Assuming ihram is done prior to performing Hajj at correct miqat makani and zamani, which its two white, seamless sheets of cloth symbolise purity and gives clear reminder to all Muslims or even to the non-Muslims, that Islam does not prioritize or give importance to wealth, class, status, race or geographical background. It is crucial for the pilgrims to adhere and abstain oneself from doing activities such as below:
1. It is impermissible to remove any hair of the body or cut nails.
2. One is also not allowed to perfume the body or the garments or ihram.
3. Men are not allowed to cover their heads.
4. One in ihram is also forbidden from wearing something stitched according to the size of the body organ.
5. Having an intimate relationship or caress with lust is forbidden as well.
6. It is also impermissible to conclude a marriage contract or propose to a woman.
7. It is certainly forbidden to harm or kill animals when one has assumed ihram.
-Nurshima Binti Mohammad Shiraz 2016638-

Asmaa' Binti Abd Somad (2018898)
1. Why we need to perform hajj & umrah?

- In my opinion, perform hajj & umrah is compulsory for us who are capable to do so. It is important for us to have our own high determination to perform hajj & umrah as a muslims. It is because performing hajj and umrah will overcome our poverty and it will removes our sins. In addition, when the hajj is accepted, we can see the changes of the human is become a better person. Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever performs Hajj for Allah's pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj free from all sins) as if he were born anew."

2. What are the forbidden actions during ihram?

- remove any hairs of the body
- cut the nails
- cover the head
- harm or kills animals
- wear something that show the size of body
- perfume the body
- have intimate relationship
- conclude a marriage contract
Who ever break this rules or do any of the action above, the person is liable to an expiation. Therefore, it is advisable to do this things before wearing the ihram.

3. Why hajj make us forget duniya, ibrah from the verse.

- From this verse, we have to be sure that Allah knows every good action that we have done. We just need to keep quite about our own ibadah, no need to tell people or anybody because Allah already know. We must prepare ourself and increase our taqwa to face the judgment day in the field of mahsyar. Performing hajj & umrah make us forget about duniya and we are focus to do everything in the names of Allah and we are focus to increase our taqwa towards Allah. We will be more thinking about akhirah as we are wearing the clothes of death.

It is a physically journey that Muslims believe offers a chance to wipe clean past sins and start a new life. It is like we reborn again after performing hajj. While, umrah means we visiting Kaabah before hajj or after hajj. Performing Umrah and hajj is also for remembering the story that happen to Hajar and his little son, Nabi Ismail where she run between Safa mount and Marwa mount to find a source of water and finally zam zam water has come out. So, the reason why we should perform hajj and umrah is also to remembering the story of them. (2013570 Alis)

Ka'bah is also referred as "House of Allah". Next, we are also wearing the same colour of cloth (white) during Hajj and during our death. The attire makes us forget about duniya and focusing to complete the events during Hajj. By doing Hajj also makes us all having the same level as all humans. The ibrah i get from this verse is the forbidden actions during Ihram that need to avoid like using harsh words (immodest speech) and abuse animal and plant. In addition, Allah knows every single thing we do. As a Muslim, we should fear of Allah as He is not rest from watching us.
