Both songs are a way for African Americans to express their emotions and feelings. One is the more happy, exciting side where African Americans are able to play music and just have fun, while the other song is more depressing and talks of more serious topics. I feel like both songs are important for people to hear, because one major point of the Harlem Renaissance is that even though black culture is becoming more popular, African Americans are still not treated fairly by society and wouldn't get equal treatment for a while.

I thought these songs were two extremes. The first one that we listed was very upbeat and happy and the second one is reminiscing about the past People should listen to these songs because they provide a broader image of the Harlem Renaissance of the positive, upbeat people and the people who were upset about their previous treatment. The second song was kind of making sure that the past was not forgotten.

I think both of the songs were extremely good.
The first song used classical instruments in a way that had never been done before. The composition had no defined structure which only speaks to the feeling of freedom when listening to it.
The second song had minor chords that struck major feelings of melancholy in the listener. The expression of the singer showed she was aching a bit while singing.

I think these songs are very different from songs we hear nowadays, it makes you think how much music has changed. I think both of these songs are good examples of how a different type of song can bring different feelings. The fist song was up-beat and happy, and the second song was more dark and serious. I think people should listen to these songs because it shows how much music has changed over time.

I thought both songs were really good and it felt nice to listen to such different songs coming from one culture. "Strange Fruit" sounded sad but it was also beautifully sung and made. "Take the A Train" was a lot more upbeat and happy and I really enjoyed it. I think other people should listen to these songs because it is a very important part of the emergence of the Harlem Renaissance and played a huge role in African Americans' lives. It's also very entertaining and super nice to listen to.

To be blunt these songs are good in my opinion. I think other people should get to synthesize with this music if they want to know how the 1920's were like, and not too different from now as this is how pop music originated from. They will know that the purpose of writing these songs is by sending a message and importance of it's trying to say, like the first one was the easiest route to get by, and the 2nd one how the South is sad now.

Both of these songs were good, and yet very different from each other. The two songs evoked different emotions; the first song, being more upbeat had a happier a feeling, and the second song being slower was definitely more sad. I think it's important for other people to listen to this song to understand the Harlem Renaissance and the different emotions surrounding it.
