The person that was chosen to be a scythe deserved it, but we had a debate about whether the other candidate deserved to be saved or not. We thought that at first because since they enjoyed killing, they didn't deserve to be saved. But unlike Scythe Goddard, they could control themself, maybe they could change for the better in the future.

That's what Rien likes about it. Kellen liked the ending because it had a good ending and it made sense. The ending was mediocre at best. We think that it didn't leave a surprising cliffhanger leading on to the next book. We feel like it was getting to a climax, but it fell short. We believe that the ending doesn't wrap up that much and it could have just been an end of a chapter.
