The conditions of Germany and Europe at the end of WWI contributed to the rise of Nazism because Germany was exploited at its lowest point. Germany was forced to accept full responsibility for WWI and was placed under multiple restraints due to the Treaty of Versailles. Germany's territory was reduced by 13% and was deprived of having any military power. Germany felt like they were being punished too severely and that they were being "back-stabbed." Adolf Hitler then seized this opportunity to take control of Germany and create a new country; a country that would follow his orders and accomplish his goals. He promised the citizens of Germany the re-obtainment of the things they have lost from the Treaty of Versailles. He gave them hope for their country's future. This made it possible for Nazism to rise and take control of Germany.

The support from the German citizens was obtained through the promises of re-obtaining the things they lost from the Treaty of Versailles. People were given a new hope when they were told that they would go back to the good old days. This support was further accomplished when the Nazis started to deliver on their promises.

Nazi Germany was able to incarcerate Jews due to them being gradually isolated and segregated against by the German citizens. They were first not able to be German citizens due to a race law that restricted citizenship to only Germans and kindred blood. Later on, racist ideals were beginning to be taught in public school. After 1933, the German government gradually excluded Jews from public life and public education. Nazi propaganda was then issued to demonize Jews and encourage Germans to view Jews as "dangerous outsiders in their midst." Germans were encouraged to vandalize and torch Jew-owned businesses and synagogues. Hundreds of more laws were put into place that would slowly but surely restraint Jews from living a normal life. Later on, they were segregated into Ghettos and then also concentration camps where they would be held prisoners.

The Nazis were able to take control of neighboring countries and mass murder of thousands of people by counting on fear. Adolf Hitler counted on the fear of starting another world war, so that Britain and other countries would not intervene. This fear led to the result of capturing neighboring countries without encountering armed resistance.
