On the way, the mother met an old woman, she was the god of darkness. The old woman showed the mother the direction of the god of death. The mother had to sacrifice many things:

At an icy lake, the lake water was deep, she could not cross. The lake said it could take her to the god of death, but she had to give it her eyes

At the garden of the god of death, where the flowers symbolized the soul of a person, the mother was confused about which was her child, the garden's gatekeeper - an old woman guided her to find her child's flower, on the condition that the mother had to change her black hair.

The mother heard the same heartbeat as her son in the two flowers. Death came and was surprised because the mother could come sooner than him. Death wanted to pick the flower that the mother thought was her child, then the mother threatened that if he did so, she would pick the flowers next to it. Death said that she was already suffering, why would he want another mother to lose her child? Only then did the mother painfully let go. Death returned the eyes to the mother after taking them back from the lake. Then he showed her the lives of the two flowers, one happy, one miserable, but did not say which was her child. In the end, the mother did not decide. She begged Death, if the child's life was suffering, to take it away. And Death took the child to that strange land.

The lake: If you want to cross, let's make a deal between us.

The lake: I collect pearls. And your eyes are the clearest gems I have ever seen. If you are willing to shed tears, cry those eyes to the bottom of the lake for me, I will take you across this place to the greenhouse where Death tends his plants
