Most people are not as divided as we are being told by certain politicians. That idea is pushed far more than it reflects reality. When ordinary people start to come together and demand fairness, especially when it comes to wealth and paying a fair share accordingly, it makes some of those in power uncomfortable, so the story they spin becomes one of division. Do not be misled by that. There is far more difference within different communities than there is between them and for the majority of people within them, our aims are the same.

We are not alone. There is strength in numbers. There is real power when people stand together and look out for each other.

Across this country there are far more people who believe in and stand up for fairness, honesty, and decency than we might be led to think. All the loud haters on social media have an agenda, to make us feel powerless.

I want you to know this: you are not meant to do it all alone. There are people who want to help you, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. Asking for help is not a failure or something to be ashamed of it’s a skill, and a brave one. Whether it’s a friend, a teacher, a family member, or a professional, reaching out can be one of the most powerful things you ever do.

You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to have life figured out. The very best thing you can do for yourself is to keep trying to be the best version of yourself that you can be, right now, in this moment. Some days, that might look like doing amazing things. Other days, it might just look like getting through. Both count.

Be gentle with yourself. You are growing, even when it doesn’t feel like it. One day, you’ll look back and realise just how much you were carrying and how strong you were for simply being here.

You are doing better than you think.

I wanted to send this because I know how heavy life can feel when you’re facing things no one should have to deal with. I know what it’s like to feel unsafe, to be hurt by the people who should protect you, and to carry the weight of things that stay with you for years.

Sometimes, the world tries to tell you who you are through stereotypes or negative news, but please don’t believe them. You are so much more than what has happened to you. Your feelings are valid, and your struggle doesn’t define your worth.

I sense growing up is hard these days. All of us know it’s not easy to get away from the chatter of social media some of which is not nice at all. It makes us all anxious about all sorts of things. I try to balance those noisy times with some quiet ones whatever they might be. I find it useful to jot down the small things that happen in a day that make me feel happier, a smile from someone, a task completed well, when I helped somebody, people being kind, anything to help me focus more on the good things that can happen in any one day. I realise then it’s not all bad and I can even bring a smile to myself. Some of the big things we can’t do much about but small things we often can. Be patient when times are hard, good times can be just around the corner. It’s unlikely l’ll ever meet you but I’m sending you a little love as if you were my grandchild.

I have spent more than 30 years working with young people. I have seen courage, kindness and determination in situations where it would have been easier to give up. I have seen young people question what is wrong and refuse to accept it as normal. That matters. You matter.

Sometimes life can feel intense and people can be unkind. If that happens, please don’t let it get to you or make you doubt yourself. What others say does not define who you are.

What you are feeling at any given time is temporary.

Being a teenager comes with all sorts of emotions.

Feeling happy, included, achieving goals, making friends, experiencing new things - brilliant times.

However, it is absolutely normal and acceptable to sometimes feel low, anxious, worried, overwhelmed, annoyed with friends and family but things usually always resolve as you move through each day, each week, each month, each year.

Always look forward and don't let your past define you as a person. You are unique and have your own journey ahead.

Life is what YOU make it!

Do not worry about things that may or may not happen, this will only cause stress and anxiety. There is no need to feel alone, there is always someone to talk to, whether that is a friend, a support group or a religious person.

Most importantly, never put yourself down, believe in yourself and remember even though today may seem like a bad day, tomorrow may bring a pleasant surprise to lift your spirits. The world is a crazy place and you cannot be expected to cope with all it's madness, just try to make your little piece of the world a happy place for yourself.

I would say reading is the most important skill - for enjoyment , & being able to function in life ie, boring 'paperwork' etc. Make use of minutes on line signing petitions you feel are important. Laws can be changed!!!!!! I would recommend searching 'Change.org' & seeing the list of subjects to pick ones of interest.

Everyone should also have a few hobbies .
