In middle school we played a version of Pirates of the Caribbean mashup. I love how dramatic it sounds, and even though I’ve never seen most of the movies I still love the soundtrack. I don’t remember much from playing it but I do remember how into the music I got, creating beautiful and loud sounds with my cello. Whenever my family is in the car and this comes on, we always sing along. Friends have even said we’re obsessed with it, haha! I love singing along to emotion the song gives, and it has a very catchy tune. I remember when we were learning about the blues last year, I thought of this song and how it is based off of the blues. This song is a little darker, but it’s still my favorite. I love how the lyrics hope for the opposite of what people usually hope for. I even relate to the song on several lines. The strumming, melody, and hopelessness is the main reason this song is my favorite. I love singing to it, especially near the end when I can really sing with my lungs, almost yelling it. This whole album is great, but if I had to choose a specific song I’d go with  “Brave as a Noun”. I love the artists’ style, with the strumming and hopeless lyrics. I am mainly motivated by anger or spite, and I feel that some of these songs fit very well. Another song I didn’t include that inspires me is “Mama” by My Chemical Romance.
