I think the most important thing is to be flexible when teaching and to be able to adapt it to the student's needs. Also, allowing students to use their hands proves to be really constructive for both parties, teacher and students, but mostly giving students a sense of achievement. Finally, I realised that the overall idea of doing projects with students in the context of teaching English establishes in them a positive feeling towards the learning of the language showing them that it is not only grammar or vocabulary but something that touches many aspects of their everyday life.

After watching the methodological approach adopted by the teachers in the videos which gave very positive results, I think that it is important to have a change in methodology by building enquiry learning activities. Society and students have changed, technology offers many interesting tools. Teacher centered and content based learning aren't trendy anymore.
Adopting critical thinking and active involvement, will surely motivate our student (that's the problem).

I think that the Inquiry Based Learning is a teaching approach which focuses on the process more than the product. This is important because, as teachers, we have to help students to buil their own knowledge and to understand their cognitive and learning styles, more than fill them with new information which may or not will remembered in the future. This approach stands, in fact, on the constructive paradigm. The three ideas I would like to use in my classroom are: cooperative learning (because I think that it's incredible useful to construct the new knowledge all together within the peers), learning by doing (in the sense of making our students construct something), meaningful learning approach (which links the new knowledge with what the students already know).

I think it is very useful to involve students, introducing the lesson through brainstorming, for two reasons: 1 they learn about the new subject; 2 it is an occasion to speak in English.

I like the interdisciplinary approach. I see obvious similarities with "reciprocal teaching" which is often used for language learning and "Philosophy For Children" which is an approach I use a lot in science class. It relies on have a good stimulus and helping kids to develop key questioning skills. Questioning skills are important for IBL.

These are great resources with an interesting approach to learning.
Important stuff:
- Creativity! We should always remember that creativity has a pivotal role not only in arts and literature subjects, but also in math and science. Without creativity there is no progress in human knowledge
- Questions! We waste so much time making students answer question whose answers we already know... We should teach them to ask meaningful questions instead! When I talk about my students, I often say "(s)he is a great students, because (s)he always asks great questions!
- Interdisciplinary approach! All subjects are related, we should always remember that human knowledge doesn't come in discrete packages...

These videos offered a lot of causes for reflections.
I chose only three.
- Sense of humour: it is really important, because helps you to establish a feeling and an empathethic relationship with your students.
- Cooperative learning is fundamental for our lessons. Though it must be used since primary school. I have experimented that some of my students are not so happy when I propose this kind of activity and I think that depends from the fact that they were do not feel confortable with such methodology.
- History of Navigation is a powerful theme, because it allows you to create lessons based on interdisciplinary approach, which is even more motivating.
