It’s not always easy to find a restaurant that’s open on a Sunday in Santiago. Due to a law that requires workers to have at least two Sundays off per month, many restaurants choose to just close on Sundays altogether — but not Baco. A favorite of local chefs for its wonderfully executed French fare made with market produce, Baco also has an extensive selection of Chilean wines by the glass, from the small producers to the heavy-hitters — something that’s not always easy to come by in Santiago. [$$-$$$]

Chile is world-famous for its meat-based gastronomy, and thus here is where you can find mouth watering dishes. Ox is the place to go to enjoy succulent and flavoursome beef steaks made from top quality meat. What’s more, the wine list boasts over 150 varieties, which complement the tempting meat menu. Ox also offers a variety of fish dishes for a lighter meal.

Santiago has a lot of different types of shopping to offer, you can visit one of the newer world class shopping malls, Costanera Center, Alto Las Condes, Parque Arauco, and Portal La Dehesa, which all offer much more than just shopping. Between them they have a large variety of national and international restaurants, movie theaters, arcades, bowling alleys, special events, and an ice skating rink. If you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket, you can visit the streets of Avenida Vitacura, Alonso de Cordova and Nueva Costanera, often dubbed the Rodeo Drive of Santiago with upscale Chilean and International shops like Veronica Blackburn and Hermès, among countless others for your upscale shopping fix. Note most shops here are closed on Sundays. Closest Metro: Tobalaba or Escuela Militar.

Visit Bar Liguria for classic Chilean comfort foods, 99 Restaurante for a six- or nine-course tasting menu of foraged Chilean ingredients, and to Boragó, which has been touted as one of the first restaurants to present Chilean cuisine in a fine dining atmosphere.

For a final night out, book a table at Ambrosía Bistro, Santiago’s newest restaurant from Chilean chef Carolina Bazán of Ambrosia, often ranked one of the best restaurants in Latin America.

El Trapiche was born in 1983 with the idea of ​​bringing to the capital city the flavors of the interior of the country. At that time, three partners: Alfonso Jaén, Domingo de Obaldía and Santiago Anguizola, decided to use El Trapiche as a forum to promote their family recipes from Chiriqui and Central Provinces.
Day 2, Lunch Solomon's Montreal Deli and Restaurant We want to be a foodie experience that our customers can enjoy every day, because good food is not just for special occasions.  So the Gourmet Shop section at Solomon's Deli will carry a range of products to enhance everyone's eating, drinking, and cooking experiences.  We'll have our favorite items like the most amazingly versatile finishing salt from Australia, uniquely flavorful mustards from Toronto, homemade soups and sauces, and more.  
Day 2, Dinner Brutto
Unparalleled atmosphere that will help transport you to one of the most cosmopolitan environments of the city, under a chic urban concept inspired by Maestro Gio Ponti and led by architect Totón Sanchez of the famous architecture firm Sanchez & Sanchez. The people here make some serious money and it shows in the prices. Shining condominium blocks glint in the sunshine and fancy cars parade through the streets. An empanada that cost you 1000 pesos in Valparaiso will set you back 1500 here. But, fear not. The beaches are still free. And, they are beautiful, clean and full of friendly Chileans who will always be happy to tell you about their amazing city.

Perched at the top of the well-kempt Bicentenario park, Mestizo is a stunning spot for a sundowner while gazing over the green lawns, fern-fronded ponds and tropical palm trees. And the food isn’t half bad either. I ordered the salmon and shrimp ceviche (again – I was a bit obsessed), while Mr Foodie tried a seared tuna steak with pistachio and parsley mash. Both were expertly executed, and felt as classy as the location. A great spot to impress a date.
