         <description><![CDATA[<div><a href="https://engage2learn.org/estudio/unit/19020/challenge"><strong>Making the Case: Fundraising for a Cause</strong></a><strong><br>(5th grade ELAR unit)<br></strong><strong><mark>CREATE/CRIT: </mark></strong><strong><br>Students will Use google docs to construct a written proposal where all members can collaborate on the proposal.&nbsp; <br><br>In addition, they will create a google slide presentation that will allow them to share their marketing plan that details how they plan to raise money for their charity.&nbsp; <br><br>Students will pair up with another group and go through the desk crit protocol to receive feedback and be given time to analyze the feedback and make adjustments.&nbsp; <br><br></strong><strong><mark>SHARE:&nbsp; </mark></strong><strong><br>Student groups will present their written proposal and marketing plan to the Student Council and answer questions asked. &nbsp;</strong></div>]]></description>

         <title>2nd Grade Math Fractions</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><mark>Create/Crit:</mark><br>Students will decorate an 8' circle like a pizza.&nbsp; They will fold the circle to create equal parts and then cut the pizza into equal parts.&nbsp; Students will determine how many pizzas they will need to buy for the class party depending on the number of slices they decide to cut out of each 8" circle/pizza.<br><br>Each group will glue their pizza cut into slices into a Pizza Box. &nbsp;<br>Students will write the information on the lid.<br><br>SHARE: &nbsp;<br>Students will share their findings and pizzas with the class.  Students will show their pizza box with the pizza slices.  They will explain how many pieces they  got out of their 8" pizza.  They will illustrate on their pizza box lid the representation of the total pizzas and how they did repeated addition to come to the total pieces needed. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><a href="https://engage2learn.org/estudio/unit/28505/challenge">3rd Grade - Math- Representing multiplication</a><br><br>Create/ Crit: Students will create a Valentine's Day gift using a block of scrap wood. Their design will need to be strategically thought out based on the size of their block. They will have measure the length and width of their block to determine the amount of area they have to design a picture or set of words. Then they will have to represent the length and width on graph paper and relate this array to a multiplication equation.&nbsp;<br><br>Share: Students will share their finished Valentine's Day gifts with the class, stating their multiplication equation (length x width = product) before presenting them to the person of their choice.</div>]]></description>

Students will pair up with another group and share what they have. They can then adjust anything as necessary.&nbsp;<br><br>Share- Students will share their proposals with the class as a practice. Afterwards they will present their ideas to a train company and they will pick the best proposal.</div>]]></description>
